Made a whip mount yesterday out of My oem factory spare mount and today I finally got around to buffing my paint and waxing it. Looks pretty good now and got most of the scratches out.
And then I helped my dad install a cb in his wrongler.

Roof rack could possibly be going back on Tommorow, but still havent decided.... If I do put it on I'm not putting lights up there.

Hi Collin,
now it looks almost too nice to take out in the dirt and play with.
You will have to do this all over if you get it dirty.

Looks great tho.

A Roof rack is always a great place to put all that crap you don't really want to have inside your Jeep. You could also put flood lights on every corner to light up the night when you go camping. Just an Idea.

WENT TRAILIN at my buddys house today, half of it was an old gravel road next to the interstate, then some thick brush and then a crossing into a little mud pit that leads into a crop feild and then to the main road where the trails over. it was pretty fun just messing around in 2wd.

and nothing to big yet since i still dont have my license and dont want to get in trouble with the law.

heres a pic of the aftermath

and on the way home my cel popped up yet again.... fml.

Nice XJ! Y'all have a lot of Jeeps, my kind of driveway!

Doing a nice job on the mods. Are you going to trim the fenders? I'm resisting it for now but am starting to think I eventually will trim mine.

My Rusty's kit arrived today, in the process of setting up the lift party. 6.5 High Clearance Long Arms with a bunch of other stuff.

Have you looked into MSJ? Local group of really good folks from all around memphis.

Got the build thread running, I use the same name there too. Got photos of everything Rusty's sent today.

TN is 16 for a license isn't it? You'll be wheelin' soon and have a much better start to it with that kick butt XJ you've got.

Depends on the insurance company. SF told me the last time mine was rear ended and I mentioned a lift that I should tell them when it's done so they can adjust the value of the Jeep higher.

Not 100% sure if that's their real reason or they want to pump my premium up a little, but their explanation is that if I put a lot of $ into modifications it can be reflected on the value of the vehicle to help cover repair/replacement value in the event of an accident.

I'm trying to find info online, but my google-fu has been on the blink lately.

Well cel is still on, drove up to the zone today and although I am pretty much one of their best customers now they were real douches about running my computer and refused to do it so I left.

And I put in all my recovery equipment that I have under the back seat:
Tow strap/tow hook
Flashlight
chapstick?(lol saw it on man vs wild)
multi tool
first aid kit
ponchos(lots of uses from catching rain water, to shelter)
Ratchet strap
Spare in the back
Jumper cables
Lighter/matches
Hand warmers
A few water bottles under driver seat, And i always have my zippo and buck knife with me.

Still need to get a jack(most likely a high lift and gonna mount it on the back on my bench seat, mag light and fire extuinguisher, mainly for the cool factor, but they all 3 are very usefull.

Any suggestions on other thigns i should keep with me?

Sucks that AZ did you that way. The one here is usually pretty good about CEL stuff.

look at the Fenix TK11 flashlight. It's my tactical light, was my duty light, really tough and good on batteries.

Grab a tire repair kit from WM - about $7 in a little green plastic case. has plugs, reamer, inserter- good for fast fixes out in the wild if you catch it before all the air goes out or have access to air back up.

Good kit so far though - you've got more than I do.

yeah it sucks they were like that.

i think im just gonna go with a mag light mounted in the rear mainly because they look b.a.

and no need for the patches, because i dont have an air compressor and i have a full size spare.

Just got done doing some pretty intense lurking and was able to find some information and old pictures of my 2001 limited xj. also found the original window sticker in glovebox.

1st owner: a lady, purchased 1/18/2001 with 16 miles from Carmax in Norcross,GA brand new for $23,468.00. she owned it until 7/11/2006 and traded it in at Marrietta Toyota with 76,835 miles.

2nd ''owner'': not really an owner, but it stayed at the marietta toyota in georgia and was used as a leased car because it was considered a nice vehicle back then(fully loaded) until 4/11/2007 when they sold it with 91,101 miles on it.

3rd and previous owner(great guy btw, even though he didnt take very good care of it. i still talk to him frequently): he purchased it for $8,638.98 with 91,101 miles on it and drove it stock until around 2009 and starting upgrading parts, starting with 2'' spacers and blocks, some stock ravine rims and goodyears from an LJ, then added the defender roof rack, pro comp lights, straight piped the exaust, and r&r front bumper, then later on got a 3.5 rubicon express aal lift kit and he drove around like that until im guessing 2010ish when it was time for new tires, so he got 33'' km2s. and then kept it like that until he decided to sell it to me on 8/14/11 for $3,500

i love carmax. really let me get to know my jeep! but heres some pictures i hunted down of its stages-

not actuall picture, but stock:

after roof rack, wheels, budget boost and bumperwish he had left me that hi lift jack on the rack!)

and then after he installed the 3.5 rubi lift.

and then the new tires:

to where it is now after me owning it:
