A $500 tune-up? What special things need to be done other than just the normal stuff?

Sounds like your Dad is like my Dad...take it to the shop for a lot of stuff because they know what they're doing. For bigger stuff, I see his point, but honestly, you can do a tune up easily. Honestly, anything involved in a usual "tune up" is easy to do by yourself.

glad im not the only one.... my dad just hates me working on my own stuff, and doesnt like me using his tools and getting his garage dirty, he wont even let me change my own oil.

i honestly have no idea for doing a self tune up. i mean spark plugs and that kind of stuff are no big deal, but he said something about them using special machines and shi*. im gonna look into it, but most likely it will end up in the shop and i will end up broke.

Because its easy to do a tune up. And buy a set of basic tools you should have in the jeep anyways and still save money. Then you can do it yourself with your own tools. No *****ing involved.

Sweeeeeeeeet!!!

Congratulations man - those are pretty beefy, just keep the jam nut tight! I'd check the jam nuts at least 2x a week for the first few weeks after installation while they settle in.

They are pretty much ****ed. my top control arms are stock and lower ones are re. The grease fittings were broken off so i replaced them and tried to grease them and grease just started pouring out of the bottom with mud and water, and since re went under... no replacement parts for them.

RE is up and running again... They have been for a little while now. It's a little late now, but you could try contacting them and see of they are willing to honor the warantee from before they came back.
