Front axle removed:

Spring compressors i borrowed from a friend made this a bit easier to remove

What do u mean it wont fit??? Again...

Had to fit it in the garage cause i didnt have enough time to pull the stock front axle, PLUS i want to finish up the welding on it while i can move it around & get good welds in. Next update on wed.

Had to cut out the rear shock hoop by Cross Enteprises, & the rear bump stops before i dropped it to the ground. Not sure if im gonna re-use the shock hoop, as i may mount new shocks thru the floor "if its worth doing." Backup option is bolt em in the upper stock mounts that are in good condition & get a set of pre-load mounts from JKS. Also gonna extend those bump stops so that they work this time & i dont chew up my tires.

This is an awesome build, sad story behind it but everything happens for a reason. I hope Jr gets his wii when dada fix's his jeep! I look forward to watching you piece it back together though, learning a lot already about these just from this forums.

Ok so no build thread is complete without some pics of fab work pics & welding pics, so i took the day to finish welding up the d30 & fix some odds & ends on it.
First is the front plate for the passenger side upper control arm, made a template, made one pass welding it to the bracket & a second pass attaching it to the truss...

Some of the welds are a bit boogerish as i just need to steady my hand a bit more, but there in there solid & i trust my welds 100%!! Practice makes perfect!!

Now to fix the rear of the truss & attach the pass UCA to the panhard bars axle bracket for added strength...

Grinded down some of the boogers & inspected everything & alls good to go!!

Ok so today i pulled the front axle, front bumper, & pretty much anything in the way of installing the winch bumper & plating the front end. I figured id plate it while everythings out of the way & since im gonna run a PSC steering gear box, the steering couldnt get done till the winch bumpers fully mounted anyway since it uses those 3 bolts.

Here the winch bumper & looks as if im gonna need a helper to get it on, lol:

Im still tossed on whether or not to powder coat them white, OR go with the original plan of painting them with chassis saver of which i bought a gallon of to coat the WHOLE undercarrage in!!

Ok so after a week of not working on the jeep due to new scheduling as my son joined Jiu Jitsu classes taking after his old man & im back in the gym untill i can afford to go back & join myself.
First thing i attacked is plating the front end making it much beefier for the winch bumper. The new winch bumper re-uses the 3 bolts that held on the stock bumper & the 1st 2 bolts had these cheezy threaded metal clips & theres not much material there to support bigger bolts...

So i cut out a template of 3/16 steel & welded it to the inside, grinded it smooth, & ditched the cheezy threaded clips & making way for bigger bolts that now have somethin to hold on to...

Next i mocked up a plate of 3/16ths & drilled holes for rosette welds & welded it all up...

Next i have a bunch of these 3/8ths solid rod that are perfect for filling gaps, spaces, or just adding in some connecting strength & so i cut a piece & completed the front plating...

Next came wrestling into place the winch bumper all by my lonesome. Due to the added thickness on those front two bolts, i had to make notches in the bumper for it to fit right...

With the floor jack & the hi-lift i finally got it on...

And now for the brand new 10,000lb winch sitting pretty on the bumper. Its not fully mounted yet so gettin that on 100% & then ill move onto plating the front clip & welding on the Ruff Stuff frame stiffeners...
