That's going to have to wait. Unfortunately I am 'under the gun' to just get this thing back on the road.

My wife and I bought a house finally, and moving all our stuff with her TJ Wrangler and my motorcycle isn't going to work out.

Filling it up with 75-90w Mobil 1 full synthetic, GL5.

Decided against 10w-30.

NO NO NO!

I made this mistake. GL-5 will eat the brass syncros in the tranny - you do NOT want to run that.

AMSOIL MTG or Redline MT-90 is what you need. They are GL-4 which is brass safe.

I knew it was one of them. Gl4 or GL5.

I'm on the phone now getting the delivery guy to turn around...

Stupid mistakes.

Thanks!

lol no problem. If you're in a hurry to get back up an running 10W-30 will work until you get the right stuff. The GL-4 stuff is usually special order unless you have a store right near you

I ordered mine direct from AMSOIL.

Another option next to the 10-30 is Royal Purple GL4/GL5, non synthetic.

Would that work?

has to be straight GL-4 rated. GL-5 is not acceptable.

I went with the Mobil 1 'high mileage' 10-30 until the other stuff comes in.

Kinda sucks, but it is what it is.

Tearing apart the puke-goat trans. Made a mess, ruined one of my wife's towels. Oops.
