So I am trying to identify what kind of rear springs I have on the Jeep, anyway I can tell? I really want to replace the bushings in the spring eyes but don't know which brand the springs are. I know the simple answer would be to pull the spring and measure the eye but it is my daily driver and am hoping to only do this job once haha. Any help is appreciated.

You're gonna want to add more to the mount. Lots of people have tied in the bumper to the hitch mount, that seems to work very well.

Are there any numbers on the springs at all?

I was thinking about adding more support but I guess if I don't we will see what happens haha.

The springs for the most part are pretty rusted over so I am probably SOL on identification.

I am thinking the bumper will be strong enough to support the tire carrier, any kind of recovery I will plan on using the hitch.

I don't know, I haven't built a rear bumper yet. You could pm people that have, or just go over to the fab. section and check out the different rear bumper builds.

Yeah I guess I should say, I am not the one building the bumper. It is my friend's dad who is a Jeep fab guy and has built some pretty sweet competition Jeeps/buggies. He built a similar bumper/carrier for his son's XJ in the past and that one held up great.
