Project Bloo
Picked up my 93 Manual… manual … manual sport a couple of months ago and am finally getting around to focusing on putting some much needed TLC.
I have a long laundry list of stuff to get done on it first before doing any cool stuff to it:
Speedometer moves all over the place until the vehicle warms up – From what I can tell there is a short in the cluster.
Excessive heat is coming from the center console on longer drives – Could be “feature” or the transfer case or transmission are putting off to much heat
The transmission shifts out of 2nd and is difficult to shift into – Might need to rebuild the transmission. Not sure what kind it is yet.
Stereo only functions out of one speaker and loses the station – Planning on tossing a new one in eventually
When I was looking for the model number of the transmission today, I found the transfer case rear seal leaking oil. – No clue what to do about it yet.
Both exterior mirrors are broken and kinda flop around in the wind – Planning on replacements
The rear window wiper hose is disconnected
There is some goofy clamp hanging down from the driver’s side rear leaf spring
Leak from the rear main seal – probably get that fixed with the tranny issue
Left front signal marker is broken
Rust spots in left rear quarter – probably in a bunch of other places too
At least the AC works
Done:
Seats cleaned
New motor mounts
Planning on some kind of a lift, but with 3.07s I am not sure if I will go beyond 31s.

Dude that color is amazing!! Always loved it.
Anyway do what I did. I'm sticking with 31's in my 5 speed as well and I swapped in the auto axles which have 3.55's. Its perfect & cheap
And leave the red stripe please! It looks sooooooooooooooooooooo good that way!

Oh.. never realized someone had posted back on my Heep. Thanks everyone!
Done:
Got a lift under it and found a deal on some steel wheels.
Simple stereo installed and found a crack in the antenna connection that was giving me poor reception.
I have 2 new external mirrors on the ride
Front left marker was fixed via junk yard parts for $10

3.55s may be the way to go, but I am holding out for 4.11s (or 4.10s whatever) as I went just tad over board with the lift/tires.
Shortly after the RC lift, I twisted a bunch of stuff under it whilst wheeling with crappy tires. The 16 inch wheels were mounted up with some used swampers. All that breaking in gave me a horrible death wobble.
After checking everything went with a Ironman4x4fab track bar. To keep it clean for the install, added some Goodyear DuraTrac 265s.
Tracks wonderfully straight once again.

I had the Duratracs also in 235 and they were fantastic in the snow and off-road. It seems to be a tire that can cover a broad area of terrain including the fluffy stuff. Along with that, regularly rotate them to keep wear patterns consistent.
Here is a pic coming out of Jenny Creek with no issues for the water to rock transition other then some minor wheel spins up just a bit further in an dug out obstacle.

Twin Cone Peak
Took the Jeep up North Twin Cone peak a few weeks ago. A touch challenging with an open diff. Sure is rocky and bumpy up there too.
Recently also just installed a Magnaflow Catalytic Converter, so happy to have some power back.
