You should probably fold the rear quarter under. It will eliminate that rubbing all together. This is a good thread
http://www.naxja.org/forum/showthrea...+lower+quarter
for bumpstops, you can lower yours like you said, or do what Im gonna do.
I plan on extending the spring plate inside the spring, like these
http://jeepin.net/images/features/dpg_bumpstopplates/
really, all you have to do is weld an extension inside on the spring plate, and you can use pucks to fine tune it, or even 1/4 plates stacked like these guys.
Ill be building mine in the next few weeks probably and adding pics in my build thread.

Well the tire came into contact with the top of the fender before it touched the side so it will be fixed once i bumpstop it. But i do plan on doing the cut and fold along with this bumper once they make one with a tire carrier.

As for the bumpstops, it is sort of a temporay fix. Eventually i am going to get a plate like those ones, but it comes with a bumpstop on the extended part so it comes into contact with the "frame" rail. Basically the same thing though.
As a plus, i went through my first tank on the new tires and im getting 12 mpg! Good mix of city/highway. I was at 14 so im pretty pleased!

Me and my dad took the jeeps out to my cousins mudhole lastnight. It was really dry mud but it was like a 4-5' hole. My xj with open diff's actually did better than my dads jk thats locked front and rear. I also found out i have the best girlfriend in the world because she ran the strap lastnight!
There not too dirty because it was dry but it was still fun! I really want to get out on same trails.

I have a 97 jeep also, and when i bought it, it already had 3 inch lift on it and 31x10.50's, I have been wanting to run bigger tires and really thinking of jumping the gun on getting some. I have few questions about your setup.
Your running on just 3 inch lift with cut trim fenders right?
Is your jeep slugish with the 33's?
Are you running factory gears?
Are you having to run spacer or anything to keep tires from scrubbing when turning?

2. Yes and no. City driving isnt bad but anything above 50 is slow. God forbid i have to accelerate while going uphil at 55mph. Haha
3. Yes. 3.55's, auto aw4 tranny
4. I have aftermarket wheels with 4" bs. Alot of people say go with 3.75" but 4" would tuck better if i had 10.50 wide tires(the 12.50's look so bad *** though!) and it is less stress on axle components.
If you are worried about rubbing while offroading, Wheel backspacing, proper trimming and bumpstopping(maby going to work on that tomorrow) will solve your problems. It's more about down travel than it is up travel anyways. Check out this thread if you havent already seen it. https://www.cherokeeforum.com/f2/low...ks-tips-32980/
Now with everything i have said above, and whatever you have heard from anyone else, JUST DO IT! I had your same concerns and i could not be happier with the setup!

I just looked at your pics and it looks like you already have aftermarket wheels with some bacspacing so you should be find in that department.

why dont you trim the front some more for a little less bump? I was just looking at your pics and you havent even cut above the body line around the flare.
I cut at that line, then ended up cutting another 1/2" or so above that. now the tire will just touch the inner fender in front, touch the bumpstop, and be maybe 1/2" from the fender

Yeah i have aftermarket wheels already, My jeep came the way it is when i bought it, But i am getting kinda tired of the whole look, I want to go bigger and change the front bumper for sure. And even tires on my jeep are like cheap AT tires, look more like road tires to me.

What did you do about the pinch seam at the bottom? Theres 2 bolts, did you just cut away the first 1?
