I believe I've seen the metal in the first picture cut and folded on a few other cherokees, similar to how you cut the actual fender, don't quote me on that one though. As far as picture 2 I'm not entirely sure. Love the jeep dude, I've got a 97 too. How were your leafs before you put the add a leaf in? I can't decide on a full leaf pack or add a leaf.
I would say they were in moderate shape. They were Flat when i had a full tank and had a little bit of arch when i was empty. If you have the money, just go ahead and do full leafs. I did aal's simply because i was tired of saving money and wanted my lift NOW. Haha Im actually hopeing that they do sag because i want to put on the rough country shackle relocation brackets.

I think full leafs is the way to go, I've got a buyer for my current suspension so I might as well just re do it all the right way and not a problem, looking forward to watching this one get built.

that lip/seam at the rear of the wheel well, just pound it over flat. the backs of my wheel wells got pounded a little too.
at the front, there isnt a lot to do, mine rub there too, at some point ill cut it out and raise it all up. at least its smooth and wont cut the tire

Well for dd you dont have to replace the break lines but if your are going to flex you have to replace them. There next on my list. You also need to replace the u-bolts. Im pretty sure you dont HAVE to adjust the sway bar but it came with the kit so i put them on. I also needed a 1" tc drop. And yeah you need shocks. You also need to either relocate the track bar or get a new adj one. And if you are gona run big tires like my 33's you need bumpstops. Oh, and you need atleast new lower control arms. But both lower and upper is better. For me, i went with some fixed lowers because im going to build my own long arms down the road. I think thats about it. Rough country makes a good kit to start off with and build off of.

You could do that. If you had the money I would say just go ahead and get new coils. You will want them down the road so you might as well get them now.
Cuz I was planning on keeping my 2" coil spacers on getting grand Cherokee springs so that it would add only just 1" which would put me at 3". But I could just take the spacers off and get 3" coil springs and do that?
