as in road salt? Cause they don’t use that in Alaska lol. They use gravel and a brine. Can’t have the salt running off into our spawning streams.

That's good sorry judging by what I seen on the rig it looked as if it were road salt! I know in New York they use it and I hate it which is why I have no desire to ever go back to visit.

just dirt off the road from the gravel. This is more or less how every vehicle in Alaska looks all winter lol. But yea salt is hard on the xjs already vulnerable metal lol, and really any vehicle in general.

Built a rear bumper for the Jeep today. Perfect length for when i decide to finish cutting up the rear fenders to where I want them. Pretty happy with how it turned out

finally got the Jeep out for some good wheeling. Didn’t make it too far in cause my buddy bent a tie rod. Bent it back with the jeeps winch and headed back. Other than realizing I need bigger tires ASAP I’m pleasently pleased with the Jeep.

Well I already knew 40s would fit up front, but they for sure wouldn’t fit in the back. Took care of that today by opening up the wells more to stuff em a bit better

Finally decided to track down my noise. Just a stretched chain slapping around... all fixed and waiting on seals to show up tomorrow

Just know slack is taking out when you put both halves together, so don't be worried when there's still slack with the new chain.

oh I know lol! I’ve build a few 231s out of jeeps. There was a very noticeable difference in slack between the new chain and old chain even before putting on the case half. Just waiting on a new output seal to show up since my local store didn’t have anything close to what would work with my case

No real wheeling today, just a fun outing to the lake. Should hopefully get it out this weekend

Nicely done on that T case rebuild! I did mine out on the bench not sure if that was easier but didn't really matter I had bigger problems I failed to track down and that is the reason I didn't come back on here for a while. Stay in the fight your Jeep is coming along nicely.

I’ve done it both ways. I prefer doing it out of the Jeep, but I didn’t wanna take all the extra time to pull it. Plus it’s tall enough that I can sit under it lol. Glad to see you’re back tho

Apart from a slight rear diff leak, thanks to 35s on one tons and dragging diffs on everything.. anyways was about time to pull the covers to change fluids and recheck torque and pattern. Should be ready for some camping fun again later this week! Will have some pics and if I remember my GoPro I’ll upload some videos as well

Just a few pics from a spur of the moment solo trip. They don’t call it the land of the midnight sun for nothing!
