You guys should all look at the new led headlights we just came out with!
Hmmmm you really got me thinkn now. I need to measure out my roof rack now and see what I can do with it. Im just wondering how it will look with my light combo I have now. I don't want a mixtures of lights to where it looks like I just threw on what I could find. I would like it to be some what uniform throughout. Of course I could just sell the lights I have now and swap them out with more LEDs. haha

Smdirtrider, if I were to do it again and I may make the change later in the build I'd go LED. You're building a low profile rack and the light rail would fit perfectly. Plus, less wind drag, and amperage draw. Maybe even weight?

Selfishly, I'd just like to see what it would look like! You must be stoked with the build. Can't wait to see your add-ons.

I think you have very good points here. Its stuff I've thought about also but never realistically looked at it due to the high prices of rigid. But now seeing these prices im very tempted. I can sell my lights I already have and get a smaller size for the front brush guard along with the rack light bar. I think it will look pretty awesome. Super low profile and compact. I need to figure out the dimensions before we bend the top rail and adjust the size properly.

Hey wiggles, do yall do sponsorships??

Here's an update on the roof rack. This is where its at now. I just set my cheap Harbor Freight lights in to see how they look. This is all on the right side.

You're building the rack. You can cut the brackets off and move them if you decide to go LED's later. Beauty of building it yourself.

Any thought to how you're going to cap the tube ends? Round, flat washer.

I will be keeping my side and rear lights for a while. I wanna make sure branches wont rip them off first. Later down the road I may swap them out for LEDs. Even then those brackets will work the same. I'm still in debate for the front light being LED. I for sure want them. Just need to save up first. Haha

As for the caps, my neighbor was saying we could use some round bolts he found. Just lookn for an easy way to seal it all so moisture doesnt get inside and rust it out. How did you do yours?

I'll be here when you are ready! I think a 40" would look good up top personally.

My measure out for the front is 45". The length of your 40" is actually about 42" right? The depth 3" and length 41.5"? It doesnt say anything about the dimintions on there. I am goin off other models on your page. Either way the 40" I think will fit right in. As for the front brush gaurd I think a 10" will work. Then after branch testing and what not, I can start swapping out for the smaller side lights. I did see your rock lights also. Those looked sweet. Haha im sure ill get a few sets of those eventually. I'm thinkn I may run with the front lights I have now till I can save up. then ill swap out for the LEDs. When that happens ill shoot you a PM for an order.
