I was looking for a project after we moved in to the new house. since I had a garage equipped with lots of tools and a beer fridge, I just needed something to work on. ( other than necking down tons of beer with my pals)

A pal of mine was gonna scrap his Cherokee cuz he got another car and didnt wanna bother with Craigslist.
I threw him what the scrap yard would've given him ($200) and got to 'er right away.

Pulled the interior out first thing to see what kind of rot was going on.
The thing had a roof leak for a while and the carpet was like 300lbs coming out.
The exhaust had been leaking for years, and the gasses managed to eat through the floor quite a bit.

Got some 18 gauge sheet metal and started cutting, knocking, pounding, bleeding, swearing, and riveting.

Then I got to the painting.
Used bedliner roll on stuff for the interior and thought, hell, that looks good. Lets do the rest.

Went campin with my pals.
So I loaded up the back with firewood.
Drove out there pretty much the whole way with the frame resting on the axle.
Had to do something about that.

When I got my alignment, the tech told me that its common with xjs that the break pads wear a groove on the spindle where the pads are meant to slide back and forth. This was causing a pull to the right.
So when I got 'er home, I filled those grooves with weld and ground them flush.
Problem solved.

Got some 1/2" bolts and made sway bar quick connects. Saved about $100.
Went and bought some beer.

Had to make some room for the rear bumper I was gonna build, so I did the old "cut 'n fold" to the rear quarters.

Next, I had to cut the the spot that covers the inside of the frame rail so I could build the bumper mount that will tie the frame rails together.

Built the bumper out of 4x4 and 4x6 square tube.

Fully welded and sealed to run as an air tank.
6 gallon cap.
