Operation Easter Egg! Beginning to NOW! 95 XJ
Never had the opportunity to make a build thread until my first Jeep purchase, so bare with me through this! haha!
Anyways, we gotta start somewhere. Had 2 cars, a 94 Neon & a 88 RX7...the Mazda sat more than I ever drove it, no surprise there for people who are familiar with rotary engines.
So...I had to drive this fabulous eye catcher...
Until....
The oil pump decided to blow a hole through it's case, left me with a rolling piece of scrap, and of course...the driveway gem, mazda. So, I had to buy something fast..was looking for a 4wd SUV, or something similar to that description, and found this local!
1995 XJ Sport
8.25 rear
Auto
114k miles
STOCK!
Appeared to be in good shape and ran well so I snatched it up! First thing I did was changed fluids and went over the entire vehicle, front to back to see what I got myself into. Everything seemed to be in good shape...but then I found this!!!
So I decided to remove all my carpet, patch all the holes and bed line the floor and leave that nasty smelling, moisture holding carpet and tossed it!
Then, decided it was time to create a new money pit...couldn't stand having clear windows so I got full tint. 20% all the way around!
Then, figured hell why not replace those haggard speakers and add some audio!
Got all the speakers wired up, and subwoofer and amp installed, plus a new CD deck. Don't have pictures of the setup, but I wanted to keep it simple and nothing extreme.
Decided, to finally hit some trails with some people local to me to see how it would do!
To my surprise, it did extremely well! Everything within reason I put it threw, it handled like a champ! Really starting to love this beast!
Was looking at my windows, and thought to myself..."I need decals!"...so!
Then the dreaded itch began.....I need MORE! Got sick of looking at the Mazda so, for sale it went!
...2 long months later, it finally sold! And my fun time began! I
I decided, I wanted another ATV..so I searched and searched and found my dream quad! 2001 Bombardier DS650!
Decided it needed graphics so....
Had picked that up on the weekend, then marked that Monday afternoon I'd be buying all my goodies!!
After some phone calls, chit chatting, blah blah blah!
Bought and paid for!
Rough Country 6.5" X-Flex Kit
SYE
Ron Woods rear driveshaft
(2) KC Daylighter 285,000 candlepower lights
(2) KC Daylighter 200,000 candlepower lights
CARR guttermount light bar
"Soft 8" black steel wheels w/ black lugs & caps(15x8)
33x12.50r15 Cordova Mudclaw tires
Flowmaster 40 series muffler w/ custom rig job piping! bahaha!
Bushwacker Flat Fender Flares
Drawtite drop hitch w/ ball
Used 2" factory hitch
Trailer wiring
Ryans Truck & Fab front and rear bumpers
And the build began!!
No more flares!
Front on!
Rear on!
SYE installed & driveshaft!
Muffler time....
Decided to take a day off and go riding!!
Even the girlfriend managed to rip up on the ds650!
...okay okay, back to work!!
My tires came, and time to slap them on!
And they're on!
Oh hell...how am I gonna get it out of the garage?!?!
Decided to flatten the tires, and tear off the factory roof rails that didn't work anyway!
The next day, slapped the flares on!
They didn't turn out too bad IMO, kinda a b*tch to cut all the fenders up and such, but I got 'er done!
Light bar on and installed!
Random comparison, red xj has a 3in lift on 2in spacers!
So, since my bumpers wouldn't be coming for a while, we went wheeling a little bit!

First movie is my buddies jeep, second one is me!
And finally I bring you to the final stage of my jeep...for now!

Thank you!! I'm not too sure what route I wanna take for the differentials and axles quite yet. I'd like to have lockers front and rear, but thats a tad expensive! So, kinda waiting that whole decision out a little bit!

So it's been quite some time since I've updated this, anyways..a lot has happened since I've last posted on here.
This mistake led to many problems to come...
Ended up blowing a tire and slicing the sidewall, sucked water in, and bent my tie rod to hell and back. Had to limp her home in 2wd with a stock spare, running on 5cyl cause I broke a spark plug when we were removing them to get water out.
In time, I would end up blowing a hole in the side of the block on #5 cyl...as well as smoking my transmission, not including other odds and ends that also failed due to the water.
Learned my lesson from that one...

After swapping out my motor and getting a replacement transmission, I yet again managed to kill another transmission due to torque converter/trans pump failure. So, I then found a low mileage transmission and torque converter too!
So, I decided to install a trans temp gauge as well as external cooler! Now the transmission never see's over 180. And after that, got back on the trails!!

I love that color! Good looking rig, simple yet clean. I'm dreading my trans swap, but I just dropped it off at the shop to install the shift kit, then hopefully I can get it all done in a day or so. Same issues with mine, converter crapped out.

Thank you for the kind comments! I wasn't all too fond of the color when I first got it, but it has grown on me quite much! The transmission swaps anymore seem to go very quick now that I've done it a few times, plus swapped an engine in my buddy's XJ. Reason for the second transmissions failure I believe was the torque converter, it was the original that went underwater! haha!

After some time, I got sick of having the light bar on my roof. It didn't allow me to get in my garage to do repairs! So, this is how it sits now!

After a long day of riding around, it was dusk...there was 4 of us in my Jeep at the time, all we could think about was getting home and getting some grub! Well, since food was on our minds..when I was backing up...
Uhhh..cheap thrill! 3ft drop into a hole! haha!
Luckily...this was here to save me!
