It seems to idle a little smoother without a cat, but I think the only performance gain that I might have gotten would be from the old cat being clogged. I do feel that it runs just a little cooler though. Now that could have been from an old cat too, but when the cat was on there I had no problems with it.
So tonight I moved on to the front axle. I took the whole thing out so that I could put it on the bench to work on it. It needs new axle seals and new u joints. Also I'm going to cut off the unused brackets. (sway bar links.)

Today I got the transfer case put back in the Jeep, I also had time to starrt on the lift kit again. I installed the trans crossmember and bolted up the brackets for the radius arms.

I was actually really surprised how high the trans crossmember was. I thought that with the radius arm set up you would lose some ground clearance. I think that compared to the stock crossmember I might have gained a little clearance, and if I didn't, then it's the same.

After I installing the sye, I don't think that it is to hard to do. The toughest part is reattaching the oil filter to the pump. Other than that keeping all of the dirt and debris out of the case is the only thing to worry about. Removing the transfer case is actually tougher than installing the sye kit. But if you do buy the Rough Trail kit from Iron Rock Offroad, the instructions aren't very good. There's a YouTube video by Advance Adapters that will walk you through every step. It answered all of my questions.
