The Official RaceJeep
well first things first. The plan is to go as fast as possible on the 4.0L. once that is pushed to its limits, then I will find a motor swap, but given the main objective of this jeep is to go straight, Im not going to be looking at motors without enough pistons, or imported for that matter
I have been considering making a turboed 4 banger cherokee, that could scream through the twisties, so maybe srt4 jeep is on down the road, but I think that could be cooler in a slammed wrangler, either a TJ, or an old army ******

The Supra 2JZ would be a fairly direct swap since the AW4 is a similar transmission as the Supra R-154 uses. Unfortunately both of those motors are $$$ & are Japanese engines. The SRT-4 is at least still Mopar, easy to source & much more affordable.
Let's put it this way, you can make more HP & torque than a jeep can ever need or use with that little turbo 4, keep weight down & not run your wallet dry in the process. The A853/420a motors, they aren't going to be a high maintenance high revving torque-less Honda motor.

FYI- 700-800 HP 9 & 10 second street driven SRT-4's are everywhere. If you're looking to go faster than that or need 1000hp bragging rights then I'd go with a 2JZ or you're choice of forcefed small block chevy V8.
I just know that SRT-4 & Jeep owners have 1 thing in common. Doing everything on the cheap. It doesn't take a bazillion hp or a V8 to go fast. You don't need RWD or to gut your car to be competitive racing. Here's a good example.
FYI- plenty of people rev these out to 8 or 9 grand (with just upgraded valve springs). I was merely pointing out that the 2.4 has a fat powerband that makes lots of down low torque (like 35oo rpms) unlike many other 4 cylinder platforms that are often peaky & make all their power above 6000rpm.
Here's some more 2.4L fun for ya.

Thanks, but I know all I need to about the srts, and like I said, would be a sweet build for a slammed carving wrangler, but not the direction that is needed for this build. It's all about those big bragging rights you're talking about.

It's your jeep & your money so do what makes you happy. I was just pointing out one of the various choices that would actually be fairly easy & budget friendly.

No offense but if you try that hard to be unique (the non highway service ag tires in your other thread too), just build your own custom ****. Trying to keep your aftermarket parts "secret" limits others' builds, and quite frankly makes you look like a douche.

to be fair, I won last time, because no one ever did find out what those are, just some that looked similar. and hey, maybe I dont like every single jeep to look like mine, and maybe I dont like endorsing products for free.
