Default New project 99' cherokee

Hey everyone, I just recently picked up an old but new to me 99 cherokee that I have some plans for. So far I've figured I would give it a charge because it wasn't turning over, not even the dash cluster was turning on. After an hour or so of charging I turned the key to just see it anything happened and everything seemed to be working (lights, dash cluster, radio and the speakers) but when I pushed the clutch and turned the key it started clicking which I am assuming was the starter but it did not roll over at all. And I'm not sure where to go from here, anything helps here.

Make sure you have good connections at the battery and the starter. If it's not turning over something is keeping the starter from engaging the flywheel. Could be bad connections, or the solenoid could be bad. That's where I would start. Best of luck.

Try jumping the starter straight from the battery and see if it fires. That'll tell you alot. If it works and it starts, connections or solenoid. No start, and its the starter or battery is toast
