people do weld on rocksliders, they are called boatsides. i ride with a bunch of guys who have done the frame stiffeners, and a few that have welded in rocksliders. they've been running them hard offroad for years, and nobodys 'frame' has come apart.

thanks for your input, but i am 100 percent sure that my unibody will be fine.

my welder quit on me (its at repair shop now) so progress has slowed. my buddy is gonna bring his miller over tomorrow so i can finish up the crossmember. here's where im at on it:

also put the 44 under the jeep...i still need to replace the ball joints, and buy new shims for the pinion (they fell apart on me when i took it out)

currently deciding how i want to build my track bar

What if you normalized the hardened zone with a torch afterwards?

feel like i did a ton of work and got nothing accomplished this weekend. turns out my JB Conversions 32 spline output...is the wrong one. they sent me the long output when i needed the short. that stopped me from finishin the transfercases.

i did put new ball joints in the knuckles, and drilled out the holes for a 3/4 heim joint steering setup...and started building my axle end track bar mount. ill get some pics up later
