Alright so here I am at mavis getting a wheel alignment... I know, "just do it yourself". Every place I called wants to know if the lift came with the "specs" for proper wheel alignment. Wtf does that mean? Anyway they said they can only do toe alignment and steering wheel centered for me. Is that good enough? I feel like no shops know what they are doing unless a computer is telling them how.

What I did for toe was use a 4-5 ft. piece of PVC pipe with a wooden dowel inside. I put PVC end against rim lip on one side 16.5 inches up(I have 33" tires) and the dowel side slid out to the other wheel inner lip at same height. Made a pencil mark where wood comes out of PVC. Did the same on back sode of front wheels. You want the lines to be 1/16 to 1/8 in. apart, whth the front being the narrower mark. Used the same device to adjust my wheelbase. Only other tool you need is angle finder for caster, or diff angle. Cheep and reliable!

That don't sound too hard to do, I think I'll do it my self next time. Cost me $85 today and all they did was toe... steering wheel is still upside down. Its does drive perfectly straight with no hands though.
No pictures yet but did install a back-up light tapped in to my reverse lights on tail. Big diff at night

Installed an new radio today, I still had the stock system with a cassette player. I went with a JVC and some Pioneer speakers, sounds great.
Also installed Rugged Ridge front mats and a husky for the rear.(pics coming)

Next up are rear seats, well because I don't have any
I just scored some black leather 2003 jeep grand cherokee seats that look like new. I had an idea of trying something different like Hummer H3 rear seats but they are hard to find and was not sure if I could have made it work... Picture of my seats shipping out, hope soon:

Been awhile since my last post. I have been trying to figure out what I want my truck to end up looking like. I've seen lots of hooked up XJ's , but one build stands out. I cant get over ORFXJ's RED 1996 XJ "Ferrar Jeep" build. I think its perfect and inspirational
.
After looking/pricing out some of the things on his jeep though... I had some sticker shock. Yeah, yeah I know you get what you pay for, but the roof rack and lights cost more than my jeep lol.
Anyway, I just finished wet sanding and dropped off my jeep at the paint booth today. I went with Victory red (PPG code 4154). Door handles down will be black LineX bedliner.

Just back from being painted, she looks much better. This is my first "color" vehicle (always owned black or silver). Still got to get the line-x done for the lower half. Also, I've been reading up on the forum about getting a new windshield with the rubber outer trim opposed to my old style with clips/metal trim. All trim has been removed prior to painting, I was afraid of safelite glass guys scratching the new paint.
