My XJ build aka the Hitman
Decided to call this build the Hitman due to the fact that my Jeep will be a daily driver and will look pretty standard but needs to be able to kill it on the trails as well.
Specs as of now:
4.0L HO Engine
Automatic trans
4.5" Suspension lift with a bastard leaf pack in the back with a few rocks stuck in them from not being clamped together, and up front I have Grand Cherokee front springs with 2" spacers and some LCA's of unknown origin.
30x9.5x15 tires that are about 30-40%
In the few days that I have owned it I have done:
New front brakes including calipers
Put a Pcv setup on where the was none from the P.O.
K&N airfilter
Sparkplugs, wires, cap and rotor
Oil change with Restore oil additive
Bought a drivers side mirror
Plans for the future:
Cut stock flares and re-install Done
Longer brake lines ASAP
Dropped pitman arm
Adjustable track bar
4.5" Front coils
6-8" lift Shocks
4.5" of rear lift from extended shackles and leaf springs
Either 31x10.5x15 or 33x10.5x15 tires with some new wheels edit:going with beadlocks
Spartan Locker for the front
Extended UCA's
Possible 4 link in the back
Full skid plates
Clock the stock transfer case
New Bumpers front and rear
Build a roof rack
Add some more speakers as only the passenger front works right now Done...kinda
Fix the power windows Done
Remove the crappy window tint Done
Install new door locks
Unibody reinforcment
On board air, trying to decide between using the ac or getting a seperate compressor
Install a center council and delete the shifter button Done
And I am sure the list will grow as I find more weak links

Got quite a few more things done today including bobbing and re-installing the fender flares, getting rid of the crappy tint job, getting the power windows to function and some general cleanup. Now its time for more pictures!
Sorry they are so dark I will have to grab some better ones when its light out. I was supposed to be going on my first trail run with the "Hitman" tomorrow but I have my doubts on whether thats going to happen.....really need to get it out and see what it will do.

Its been a rough week for my jeep, it started running on 5 cylinders and I found a large crack in the drivers side front tire sidewall. So I took the Jeep to get some groceries, finish up my shopping, throw the bags in the back and fire it up.....it runs like crap. I can tell its down a cylinder, no big deal. Drive it home figuring that when I did the tune up a few days before I had not got a sparkplug wire clipped all the way on. So I start messing with stuff and sure enough find that the wire to cylinder 1 was not quite all the way on the distributor so I clip it on assuming that it will fix the problem...NOPE. So I start checking the rest of the ignition system, everything is working as it should, getting good spark all the way through the plugs, so being a reasonable gearhead I move on to the fuel system guessing that the injector on cylinder 1 died, so I make a few calls and score a known good set of stock injectors as well as a full set of 703's that I will be swapping on once I get everything working right. I go to a friends shop and get the new injector on...does not make a damn bit of difference. By this time its getting late, so the next day I take it to my buddies place who is a Jeep guy. We start working on it and in the process of ruling things out we manage too rip one of the new spark plug wire clips out........ this brings us to where I am now which is getting ready to do a compression check and pray that I dont have a dead cylinder. Oh and while at my Jeep buddies house I found a crack in the sideway of the drivers side front tire so I will be getting new wheels and tires here soon, either going to go 31's or 33's depending on what deals I can find. Oh sorry about the long and picture-less post, hopefully I can get some pics here in the next couple days of it on the new wheels and tires playing off-road

Thanks guys, yeah that last pic is pretty cool I think. Grabbed some longer brake lines at work today so that should allow a bit more flex. Also scored a really good deal on some 33's so those will be going on with some fender cutting. Hoping the nezt trip out to the trails happens soon, going to be excited to see what it will do

Got the Jeep running right again, glad to be back running on all 6 cylinders. Turned out to be and ecu issue, looks like a bad injector driver. But after the amount of testing that I had to do I now know that everything else with the engine is good. Now it's back to doing fun stuff, more updates go come hopefully sooner rather than later

Hit the junkyard today, managed to score a gas tank skid plate and a center council with some cup holders. Both items will need some pretty decent clean up but will be super nice once they are installed. Still need to get my brake lines on and go hit some more trails. I thought I had scored a killer deal on some 33x12.50's but that ended up not working out so I am back on the hunt for new tires.
