i like the mud flaps. did you pick them up from a big rig or did you buy them online? i was thinkin of making mud flaps out of strands of chainand wield the ends together so they stay together. more to catch big rocks that will be thrown rather than stop the mud, plus it would look sweet imo.
Thanks i got the flaps from shucks for 11.00 each . I like your chain idea would look cool. But i dunno if my local johny law would like it. Im sure you can buy semi mud flaps on line but try shucks or nappa.

On the 6x6 idea...contact Sean Casey of Storm Chasers (Discovery Channel) fame. The TIV2 tank truck you see on the show is 6x6 and he did a ton of the Fab work himself (with help of course). He would probably love to talk fab a d trucks instead of storms and chasing. He is still promoting his film, so it is endless storm talk.

massaged the top of the zj hatch to match the xj roof line. pulled out the zj harness and change the wiper motor and defrost plugins to the xj plugins.
did some trimming of the zj hatch panel so i can have a decent looking interior. need to cut and trim the old side panels to fit now.
gotta go get some steel and finish the hatch off so i can do the rear roll bars. then move the fuel tank for a stretch .

so spent most my summer building other rigs. so mine never gt done. i threw tars back on it and gonna wheel it like it sits for a winter.
got some 35/16r15 swamper bogers to hit trail with and they work pretty damn good too.
if i did my math correctly on thees tires i displace 6lbs per square inch on my tread contact. i measured my area x4 "four tires" so 192x4/786/4500 ='s 5.85 lbs psi
stuf 16 inches worth of tire
.

so i scrapped the toyota disel plans and i now "have" a mercedes turbo diesel. a OM617 from a 300D . with a adapter kit i can bolt it to my jeep trans.
my axles for swap are a 14bolt and a d44. i am hoping the d44 will do afor me but we will see. if not i'll be swapping.
few more pics of whats goin on
rear frame still needs mounts fish plates and top caps .
