I picked it up for $300 hundred dollars Plus shipping. Then I had a friend of mine who Works in the body shop, told me that I needed to have the glasswork done because there was a few small warbles in it, and it needed to be painted. Then he said the fiberglass will rot if it wasn't painted. (Since I am a painting contractor) I then worked out a deal with the shop owner to repaint his offices in trade for the work on my hood. When it was all said and done it cost me around $1300. But I am very happy with it!
Here it is after it was all done.

Been through this thread dozens of times since Google lead me here while searching for XJ LED Do it Yourself, still love it! One of the major reasons i joined the forum now that i finally own an XJ 2 years and 7 vehicles later!
I will be attempting the LED conversion soon as that is one of my favorite "homebrew" mods!
Thanks for the awesome write-up! Not to mention all you do to help others in your community!

Sorry it took so long to get back here, life
ya know?
Thank you thats just how I felt when I found it.
Thanks man! after I bought it on line, I made a be line to the door every time I thought I heard a UPS truck. lol
Ya but cash out of pocket was only the $300 plus shipping. The rest was just time, and it was my slow part of the season. Plus I got to be around the shop to watch the progress of my hood

My favorite build thread! Mainly because of the purpose you built the XJ for. Most are built purely for recreation, this one is a work horse. The SAR stuff is probably has its share of fun to.
