My replacement 95 xj
sweet looking jeep. I have had mine for about 2 years as a stocker almost paid off then the work is going to start on it. Pics are great and I cant wait to see more.

It's not a stupid question! I used to not know the point either. Well when you start running large tires you put a lot of stress on weak axle parts. Especially the inside axle shafts when wheeling. Stock axles are 27 spline and you can upgrade the inner axles by swapping axles. The Dana 44 and 8.8 I think are 31 spline which is bigger in diameter. Some people choose to upgrade just the axle shafts in the sock axles instead if swapping. Another reason axles need strength, is when a locker is installed it puts the full power to both shafts, and you really risk breaking them if you're running large tires.
