My new 2 door build
That whistle you hear is from the swirl line things in the spacer is self..I got annoyed and took a hole saw to mine to remove those lines! Now that they are gone and its smooth the whistle has disappeared lol!
Anyway I see your doing a budget boost & such! I say sell what you bought! Theres a better & possibly cheaper route to getting the lift your after!
You state your oem leafs are sagging a little..well within a month or 2 that AAL will sag right down with them & you'll be kicking yourself in the ***...its a fact it happens way too may times!! I say go to a junkyard with a friend! And get a set of leaf springs from a S10 or Dakota or Blazer...they should cost like 40 bucks...What your after is the main leaf, you cut the eyes off of it and add it to your leafs, yes like an AAL but these are must stronger & can carry the weight without sagging because they are thicker & have more arch to them!.
You will get anywhere from 2-3" of lift depending on the condition of your current leafs. Since your sagging a little I'd venture you say you'd get around 2.5" It will last way long than that AAL because they are way thicker & will carry the weight better! Should give you a little more lift as well, most people report 2-3"! For the front you can buy a v8 grand cherokee coil..usually 20 bucks in a junkyard! These give anywhere from 1-2" of lift..I'd run that V8 coil spring and the spacers you have! Should get your around 2.5"-3" and you'd be perfectly fine..not need anything else! I'm at 3" right now and have factory control arms and everything without issues!
Anything higher than 3-3.5", you'll want new control arms, a adjustable track bar, longer brake lines..ect!
If you want and feel like its worth it, you can also get the tierod off the V8 grands because they are thicker/beefier...looks alot better when you look under the jeep having beefy steering lol! I have this on my jeep and its a nice upgrade..nothing you can feel but hey at least it looks better & I know it;ll be harder to bend when I'm offroading!
If you want I have the ZJ coils or some HD xj coils..both gave me 1.5-2" of lift..I'm now running a 3" rustys spring so I'm selling these for 30 a set..
With either of these springs and that spacer, you should get a even 3" or so..with the S10/Dak leaf add you'll get around 3" in the rear!
I'm running 3" coils & the same leafs! Perfect 3" all around and I'm loving it!

Well I decided to get off my a$$ today and managed to get my TBS installed. As for adding power I think it did mostly between 2 and 4 thousand rpms and you can clearly hear the air bein sucked in harder along with a more noticable whistle. Guess ill just have to find out on the mpg's now lol.
i'm not a believer in the TBS... i think you just paided a hundred dollars so your Rig can whistle. other than that the is one friggin nice 2door. one of the cleanest i've seen. nice job bro.

Kamaran, you've deffinitley got my mind goin a thousand miles a minute now haha. That sounds like a hell of a way to get a cheap lift. I dont really plan on ever goin over 3" of lift but I got the 2" since it was cheap and looked better than stock. Im deffinitley gonna start lookin for some v8 grand cherokee coils now, and does it matter between 2wd or 4wd dak/s10 springs? If not Ive actually got some 2wd s10 springs here at the house. Also will I need an SYE? I was always under the impression anything over 2" required an SYE, maybe im wrong. The thing is ive never been much of a wheeler aside from the occasional 2 mile trail we have around here called 5 ponds, and the twice a year event at powerline park. Im mostly liftin it for looks (sorry haha) with the occasional use. Around here its pretty much about speed and looks and if ya ask me im pretty satisfied right now. Thanks for the help ill deffinitley get this done at some point just not sure if itll be soon, only time will tell!

No SYE needed! 2wd or 4wd..I used the 2wd version..
If you look at my jeep I'm running 31's with no flares but the fenders are stock..no trimming.
I got 3" out of this setup.
Like I said I have coils I can sell you..30 bucks + shipping that saves you the time & hassle of hunting them down!
Sell that AAL..post it for a fair price and get rid out it! Your gonna thank me! If you run it, it will sag within a few short months..its way to thin to try and lift & carry load! The S10 main eye however is much thicker & since its still arched more, you get the same lift without the sag!
You don't even have to remove your leafs, take them apart while they are on the jeep. add the leaf you want & go from there..you can expirement since you have a full set of leafs! Like swapping a Xj leaf for a S10 leaf..you will get a variance in height!
Heres what I would do, Add the main leaf from the s10 pack..cut the eyes off and add it in..if thats now high enough for ya, then pull apart again, take the last xj leaf..right before the overload & swap it with the corresponding S10 leaf!
I'm telling you that AAL will sag! 3" is the perfect height..no need for anything extra, but as time goes you can upgrade! Like you don't need control arms, but if you get them then you can flex more! You don't need a track bar, but an adjustable one will give you more room when you flex!
3" is perfect..get lifted & upgrade later...exactly what I'm doing!

Just after the lift..rear sagged down maybe 1/2 an inch once my leafs got settled! Thats a rusty 3" coil and S10 bastard pack/stock shackle.

Thats 31's and uncut fenders...real tire size is 30.8"

I'll be doing an MJ shackle for another 1/2-3/4" of an inch..justto get it back to this height..maybe slightly higher..I like the rear slightly higher.

Stopped short cause of a stupid broken pole right under my drivers side front tire. Was scared to roll over it and get a flat!
I have since taken a sledge to that damn thing and flexed it all the way!
EDIT: actual lift was 4" rear & 3.25" front. Now that the leafs have settled its 3.25-3.5" rear. Its 100% even right now although the rear looks lower. It just looks lower to the eye because the cherokees have less wheel gap in the rear than they do the front..so higher lift in the rear makes it look even...kinda weird lol
Hence the reason I'll be doing an Mj shackle to get my height back to where I want it!
Also flex is great for a bastard pack..most people say they don't flex that good..but mine flexes great!

I got a few minor things done today being the new fuel door I got from choo_31 and the decal from cball917 (thanks guys!). Heres some pics.

Now im stuck trying to figure out why my drivers door wont open from the outside. I removed the access panel on the door jam and you can see the rod moves when you press the button but it wont move the latch. Gues im gonna have to go elbows deep and try to figure out the problem.

Well i ended up getting the door problem figured out and after 2 hours of messing around inside the door it ended up being the rod for the outside handle was out of adjustment. Even though that was the first thing I checked I didnt realize the door was locked the whole time
. I kno im a dumba$$ lol. But I got all that fixed up and ended up putting my 6x9's in the boxes I had ordered for them so i'm one step closer to having more & better sound thank god. Now everythings at a standstill, i've literally done everything I can to the jeep with my limitations of my injury, BUT im goin to the doctor tommorrow and im supposed to be good to go after I start some therapy at home
not looking forward to that but ill do what I gotta do to start realy showing the XJ the love she deserves. After dealing with this injury and sitting around for a month going nuts if my doctor says I cant do anything still well lets just say itll go something like this
(bad leg and all). Just thought id give yall an update and hopefully within the next 2 weeks the real work will begin. Thanks for everyone thats taken an interest dont be afraid to let me know what ya think of her.

Well not much new stuff to talk about, but I did end up getting rid of the mossy oak windshield banner and got some real camo on lol

I ended up selling the 2" lift since I plan on getting a full 3" kit from zoneoffroad with new leaf packs. I took that money and ordered a set of 703 injectors from DualSportDad (thanks!) and got them put in too but forgot to get pics of the install. Didnt really notice a difference and havent got the chance to see mpg gains yet since the low fuel light has been on for a week lol. I dont really get to drive it much because of my knee injury. Itll get filled up thursday so ill try to get a good guess of mpg's then.
Other than that really all ive done is get in and adjust my rear brakes. I got one set of brake shoes when I bought it and was told it needed the drivers side rear done since the dumbass only put one side on. But once I got in and took a look at all the hardware and the condition it was in I figured it will be a smarter decision to wait and get all new hardware kits and both sets of rear shoes, most likley end up doing a full front and rear brake job at the same time.
Now for the horrible news, I found out im going to have knee surgery to pull a piece of my kneecap that broke off out of my leg. So im guessing another 2 weeks of laying around minimum. Im really getting pissed that I cant get out and do much to or with the jeep, but hey what can ya do I guess lol.
Thats most likley it for this week, but hopefully if I sell my toolbox for a truck this week I plan on sending my TB to xjfiles to get it bored since I wont be driving the jeep after my knee surgery.
