if you're getting another head unit go with a pioneer. They have all the best sub controls and most all come with a High Pass Filter to ensure you dont blow your door speakers. I've had 2 and love them.

I have wanted this plate for several years and last fall i was able to get one for cheap. I know it seems like a silly thing but i am a bit of a disney freak. I originally picked it up with the intentions of putting it on my 72 k5 and doing a black/flat black/grey "camo" paint job with lime green accents, but now its going on the xj. The funny thing is that my Girlfriend actually worked at the haunted mansion so this plate has even more meaning to me now. I just finished putting like 20 light coats of the clear seen in the pic and i like the flatish look it has not to mention how protected it should be. And that is my inspiration for the jeep

i would say yes on the headunit, pioneers are just great headunits, but not so sure on the speakers. As a Car audio freak i know pioneer isnt very well known for their speakers, but their headunits are great and i've heard their amps are pretty good.

EDIT: BTW, the kicker DS door speakers are BEAST. held up to me for a while and screamed before i blew them. For the average/non extreme audio guy they are perfect. Oh and 6 1/2 will fit in the rear sound bar as well as in the doors. i have 6 1/2 all around

i just bought a pair of 6.5 Rockford Fosgate 3 way speakers on sale.

Now i gotta figure out if i want to deal with trimming the front door panels to make em fit in the front or if i should move my kicker DS65's up there and put the R.F.s in the back.....and i still need a headunit

Since the last "update" -
-new front tires (couldnt find a decent deal on 31's)
-a couple thousand miles
-rear pass side flare likes to pop off, i have to figure out how to keep it on
-today was a disastrous oil change. Can you file charges against someone for putting an oil filter on way too tight and stripping the bolt on the pan? Broke a screwdriver and nearly broke another after resorting to impale the filter to turn it.
