My first XJ 99 steel blue

Lift is all installed finally after fixing all the jacked bolts... Replaced all the control arm bolts with ARP 12 point stainless flanged hardware since the stock stuff was jacked. This was wayyy cheaper than oem hardware and is super bad ***! Just gotta install my bushwacker flat flares do the front brakes and lines and viola she's ready.
Getting the bumper off was a *****! But it's off and the ARES rear classic bumper is powder coated and ready to mount up
tomorrow project !

It's coming along really nicely!
I'm a little late to the party but those wheels that were on it when you got it are American Racing Outlaw 2's. Some XJ's came with the paint matched flares, bumpers, trim piece above the license plate and sometimes the front grille as well. Good choice in shocks...I'm in the process of installing the same on mine.

Thanks guys got it buttoned up tonight. I honestly was pissed with the rear bumper.... I had it on and off 6 times to make it fit to what I considered acceptable grinding and modifying brackets every time... Also installed the stainless brake lie extensions front and rear... Prolly didn't need them up front but I'd rather never loos my brakes or need to re do them if I wanna go higher one day. Plus I pulled out all the old fluid and I'm sure the systems happy again and freshly bled... Thinking about installing the bushwackers at a friends body shop then monstalining the lower doors and rear quarters 1/2 way up..... I think it looks kinda sweet.... Or I may spray the whole thing :-O

Ok well I still need to out the wheels on :-) tomorrow am project I was tired also need to ghetto rig a dump pipe outta a. Random 2.25" mild steel pipe 90 degree bend I had laying around and hangar off it to support the muffler since my tailpipe is roached and I'm just gonna buy a exhaust in the future or just make one in the spring header back 2.5" setup hoping to get it aligned tomorrow
at the local shop down the street... Guys got a race car and isn't a hack plus has a nice machine so I think they will do a good job over your standard hack shop since my upper and lca's are all adjustable I want everything centered perfect ect...
FINALLY GOT HER GOING AND IM LOVING IT!!
NEED TO GRAB A FEW THINGS FOR XMAS THOUGH
thinking for a front bumper or maybe a led bar? anyone have any suggestions ?
pretty set on the jcr offroad bumper and a 20" led bar on it instead of one on the roof that glares everything out...
thoughts and opinions appreciated

How does it ride compared to stock? Are your happy with it? After the alignment does it drive nice? Getting ready to lift my 99 Cherokee and this would be great to know for me.
Your Jeep looks great!!!!

Ride is pretty good it's not terribly rough by any means... I really like it but wish I would have went like 4" or 4.5. Your going to need a brake line set for sure don't risk the most important part of your truck breaking... No brakes = problems... Prolly gonna need a drop steering arm to make the angles decent. I bought mine from rough country it's nice and got my angles way better. While I was down there I also added their hd tie rod since it was like 75$ and the stock one looks like it will bend instantly... Steering is also important and I wanted it to work as best as possible. Some will tell you that you don't need the arm but I couldn't stand the angle...
Be prepared to spend decent $ it's not cheap to do it right... But if done right it's gonna be awesome...
I also replaced my 95k mile old ball joints and steering rod ends and front u joints as well when I did the install. It will assure a tight front end and make stuff last and wear well for several thousands of miles since I plan on keeping this truck forever...
Well the body is cut for the flares... The bumper supports for oem plastic end caps on the back were drilled out and then welded rivet holes shut and primed the panels... Sanded it all por15'd all cuts on the body... Sanded everything under the style line with 120 and wiped with a prep spray... Taped then busted out a qt of monstaliner and went to work... This has been a pain in the *** and very time consuming if your a stickler for detail like I am... Overall I'm pretty satisfied... Installing the flares tomorrow and then waiting a few days for the bedliner to really dry in my heated garage before I take it out since I have another car to drive...
Also got some stuff for Xmas and bought a lot of parts here's the still to do list

Nice job! I love that rear bumper...good job on fitting it. What you did on the rear quarters looks like it will be a nice alternative to the panels they sell.
These flares fit amazing... I mean sure I paid attention to detail and did everything right but their product is top notch... They seem super solid and with slight work fitment is epic... Here's some of the back hope the front go as well Thursday after the winter classic... Tomorrow after work is shot with nye and I'm in no hurry. It sucks nay getting a few hours a day to work on stuff

Tires and wheels look small now though
debating on re gearing with a Detroit tru trac LSD out back and going 33's opinions ??
