My buddies alt went out and blew the fuse (a different truck). I replaced the alternator and at idle the battery was putting out 12 volts, and at the positive wire coming out of the alternator there was 16-18, replaced the fuse and everything was flowing properly.
Also another easy and common "no start" is the crank sensor on the trans. My 99 Goldie had that problem a couple years ago (sitting at 105k now)

Ok gang so here is the pics on my doorless endevor
first off all i didnt take any pics during the first part so just run with me on it so i removed the torx bolts, cut the wire harness, and set the door off to the side.

next i cut the hinge pins and pounded them out ran up to the hardware store and picked up 4 grade 8 5/16 bolts 2 1/2 inches long. i decided to weld the bolts to the truck side of the hinges to help with the rigidity of the hinges cuz they are not as beefy as the 96 and older xjs

then from there i just cut the bottom part of the door hinge off

then i just put it all back togeather the hinges look like this

just need to throw some primer on the new hinges and they are all set i adjusted the doors this morning so they line up what a pain in my butt they arnt perfect but they are close enough for me all in all im happy with the results im hoping the different way of doing the hinges works well so far no problems heres hoping it stays that way
