So after talking to you I thought, I don't have all my gear in the back or any of the kids and my gas tanks only half full. So I ran to the gas station filled her up loaded the kids in the back seat and re-measured. 3in passenger side 4in driver side. So I went ahead and cut the passenger side mount off and moved it down 1in now both sides match 4in loaded 5in empty. I'm pretty sure that will work now that I'm using all of what the shock has to offer I can figure out the rear bump stops.

Replace motor mounts and trans mount today along with adjusting my steering box a little. It seem to have gotten rid of the slight vibes I was having and took most of the play out of my steering. So today was a good day.

Might have scored a xj dana 44. The guys not sure what the axle is. And doesn't have a cell phone to take a picture. All he could tell me is that it has a 10 bolt cover and a metal fill plug and it doesn't have 35c casted into it on the housing and it came out of a 87 xj with a tow package. So we will see going to look at on Friday.

Just getting the rear end if its a dana 44. We will be adding a jeep to the family soon enough my 15yr old daughter will be driving soon. Nothing but xjs for the kids this time around they are easy to work on and pretty cheap.

Oh I see. Cool. I'd like to be able to find a 44 too just cuz there are so many options for that as opposed to the 27 spline 8.25 Lol good luck!

Well the dana 44 was a bust. Turned out to be a none c-clip 35 that someone put a drain plug in. Went to the jy yesterday not a single xj out there found a zj but the rear disk brake backing plates where already gone. Then thought about pulling a 8.8 out of a explorer but that wasn't going to happen. So I rewired my 4wd drive switch now my part time lights work on the dash again also installed some IRO HD coil spring retainers.

What do you mean a drain plug? I believe all non c-clip d35s have a metal fill plug, c-clips have the rubber plugs. If you have a 8.25 then you wouldn't of gained much with the D44, I'd just build the 8.25 if you think it can't handle your driving and 35s.

It had a metal fill plug. My 8.25 is out of my old 94 so its a 27 spline I pulled the shafts to make sure. The guy wanted 70 bucks for the axle and didn't have a clue to what is was so if it was a 44 for 70 bucks that would have been a pretty good score. My 8.25 has lived so far being a 27 spline I just don't really want to waist any money on a 27 spline 8.25. So looking for a upgrade.

So picked up a diy back bumper today at a swap meet.
It's a iro prototype. Need to finish welding the d-ring to the out side of the bumper.
