So i was on craigslist and this jeep came up so i looked into it. i ended up picking it up fir 900 bucks. it had a 4.5 RC lif put into it abt 500 miles ago. the motor is a JY motor with 74k on it. The kid swamped it over the dash and put it in the shop to get fixed. they drained all the fluids put in new changed all the filters and ran new fuel lines and some other small stuff was done as well. now on the way home after buying the transmission started over flowing out where the dip stick is and slipping. so idk if i should replace it or flush it put a new filter and fluids in it or what. any help on tht would be greatly appriated. the trucks fenders were destroyed so then i replaced them and through some 31s on it. the dash was replaced with a new wrangler dash. after everything dried out. i put a new radio in it and got almost all the power stuff working again. here are some pics

so now before i can hit the road i have a very minor oil leak to take care of. a gear box seal leak thts kinda bad and the transmission issue. wat would you guys do abt this transmission?
lmk thanks
lmk thanks
sounds like you may have just gotten ripped off. $900 is awfully cheap for 74k and a like new lift. Im thinking the PO knew about the transmission issue and tried to get it off his hands. Sound possible?

the kid mentioned the tranny slipped once on him since he swamped it. i can buy a transmission from my friend in 100% gud shape from a totalled mint cond. xj with 107k on it for 200 bucks but i have no idea how to put one in. is it a hard job?

then i guess im going to give it a shot then
and also forgot to mention the truck was listed for 2200 with tires 1200 with out thats why i took it with the 28s and i knocked him down to 900 for the truck. he had almost brand new 33 bfg mud terrains on mickey thompson rims. so i guess he figured they were worth 1k lmao

If you're not sure about replacing it, I would pull the pan and see what kind of crap is in it. If it's stinks and is burnt, better replace it. If it had been flushed right after it happened, it might have lived a little while.
