I've not mounted it yet. Targeting under the seat.

So I got my TB back from coating. The inside is coated with an oil/gas resistant PTFE(teflon) coating. The black is another teflon-type coating.

All of the parts. The shaft in the pic ios scratched from me sliding it in and out over and over. The bearings were coated with a moly lube as well.

Another angle.

I have some ceramic brake parts lube I used on the bearings.

Mid-way assembly.

Another angle.

Butterfly installed.

Another angle.

Done as far as I can go since the gasket is busted,

Tires mounted on "new to me" wheels.

Tomorrow's goal is to refill gas tanks and see about upper/lower rad hoses and coolant.

Me too, but I shopped around, horse traded, and bartered for a lot of the stuff. I work at a coating company as well, so I am doing R&D

Worked on the driver's side UCA today.

New bushings in.

Put new o-rings in the oil filter adapter.

Time to install the new t-stat. I cleaned up the surface with the wire wheel and a flap wheel.

Both exhibited a little bit of pitting so I very lightly had applied some black rtv.

Time to get the pig off the engine stand.

Need to retime. Hope I am doing this right.

This was the position of the bastard distributorless ignition.

Timing marks out front.

New plugs, NGK coppers I believe they are.

A great parts holder for now. Soon the AC compressor will go back here

New flex plate.

Old flex plate.

New flexplate installed.

Ready to re-pos and put in.

Going in.

Another angle. You can see the new MN plates on the roof.

The engine is in right now, not attached to anything. I need a bottle jack to lift up one side of the trans to line up holes so will run to the parts store tomorrow.

Busted IAC gasket. Parts store has nothing for a replacement

They had some of this stuff so I can make my own.

This ought to do. It isn't flat though

We'll throw it under a few drives for now.

Wrapped up the throttle body tonight:

Laid the old gasket out on top of the new gasket material.

Painted over it to transfer the pattern to the new material. Dried down with a hair drier.

Now we are ready to cut.

Insides removed.

Outsides removed.

Assembled.

Other side.

Again, I still have the orig throttle body in case I did something wrong on this one.

You did all that work and didn't make your block pretty? Shot mine in AMC's metallic blue. You do good work though.

Too cold. I'd need to get it warm with dry heat to get the moisture out and then keep it warm with dry air until it was all done. Minnesota winters have bee past brutal. I think most of our winter has been below zero. I did buy the primer and paint with intentions to do it.

Next time?

Forgot about the weather. We have had almost zero rain this year. Going to be so dry I think the entire state will burn down with one fire.

Could be worse, you could freeze your ***** off up here

Went to the local fleet supply and grabbed this today. This was a huge help to aid in lining up the motor/trans.

This ratchet is a real life saver. You can twist the handle either way and it will drive the socket. Works ace on bell housings

Used the quick clamp here to aid in lining up the bolts on the bell housing.

The top bell housing bolts are "special". These were replaced with some regular hex bolts.

Comparison of the new(top) to the old(bottom). You can see that external torx head is a bugger.

Taking the mounts out makes moving the motor around in the bay that much easier.

Still using the orange strap. Works ace to help rotate the motor to aid in lining up bell housing bolts.

It also helps to do the motor mounts as well.

And now the pass side is done, needs to be torqued down.

Driver's side was a real treat. I was able to use the orange strap to pull the trans to one side to aid in lining up the bolts here.

And now it is in! The motor mounts need to be torqued down.

Always a good spot to be in a project when you can wipe down your tools and put them away.

Next up is putting the ignition rail in on a previously cap n wire ignition motor.

Time to make some brackets

Bending the bracket.

Welp, I guess we are done using this to stretch holes. That sucks. It was a $60 die grinder bit

Prototype bracket complete.

Another angle.

Now let's go to production

Here are 2 done.

Closer up.

Its been a long day. I need to get some more bolts for the ignition rail.

Later this week I should be ready for a test fire.

Today I got the TC bolts in, motor mounts from top are done. FYI, ****s cold when you can't find your gloves.

Here we got the ignition rail mounted.

Injectors, fuel rail, and fuel line installed. I need to figure out how to get that broke elbow off of the front of the valve cover.

Power going back to fuse box.

Some ground wires going back in.

This guy I don't know where it goes.

This guy appears to be for alternator.

More ground wires.

I may be able to get to this tomorrow night some more, but otherwise it is looking like Friday. Good chance to turn this over this weekend provided nothing crops up.

Ok, so got outside today. I got the linkage put back on and discovered I got the wrong o2 sensors

Wiring and stuff together

Wiring together on the other side.

Alternator secured.

Power steering secured.

Kind of a **** show here, lol.

TB mounted up with misc cables.

Another angle.

Radiator coming out of the box.

Radiator in.

Filter and oil going in.

Test fitting these pieces. Upper/lower hose in, trans line in.

Put a new grommet/elbow in here.

View from this side.

Done for the night.

Tomorrow's list:
Coolant sensor repair-I bought one and it broke
Rear o2 sensor replacement (parts store)
Add coolant
Install battery tray
Double check power connections
Install remaining heater core hose
Visit parts store and get some more hose clamps
Test fire & troubleshoot

If all above goes good, then button up exhaust and roll hoodless through the hood
