Well got my motor in and running and seems it might be coming back out. It idles perfect but has a knock noise at 2 grand. Dropped the pan and pulled all the caps and they all looked perfect. Bore scoped all the cylinders and they looked fine. It sucks we can't determine where it is coming from for sure. It sounds like the back of the motor. It is a rotational clunk...

May sound stupid but check the trimming chain. They can be know to make a pretty loud clunking noise.

Check the bolts to the torque converter. If they are loose they sound just like an engine knock.

Not a bad idea... My stroekn cracked my flex plate in the 900 miles I ran It. I ended up throwing in a new one hoping it was just that... No dice!

Hopfully yours is a simple fix!

Already checked as well. We have pretty much checked everything. Now it's time to pull it out disassemble it and see what I find.

Well no bummer needed we got it figured out without pulling the motor. Disconnected the tps sensor and fired it up just to see if it was spark knock / ignition timing issue. Fired it up and bam! No noise and it ran even better. I took it out and drove it without the sensor hooked up and it ran awesome. So now I need to get the PCM tuned to what I need and then I should be good to go. Obviously stock settings on a factory PCM is no good with this motor.

I honestly don't see the need for it, I like the stability feeling of the leafs. I feel my leafs flex plenty and make me feel more stable. Most TJ/ZJ's I have wheeled with get pretty tippy in off camber situations and the work/cost of it just doesn't seam worth it in the long run. I may in the future, but at that point I'll be swapping axles too, if it ever gets there.... 14BFF and D60.
