Doesn't surprise me. From what I see with the people that I wheel with, the KM2's don't impress me at all. And what don't you like about the IRO steering?

Well I was very impressed with how well the Km2s worked for such a lightly aggressive tread pattern. I put them down some hard trails with no issues at all. They are a good tire for a dual purpose rig that sees a lot of street but mine pretty much is a trailer queen. I went with the Iroks because I wanted a purpose built tire for the rocks and didn't need a good riding or handling tire on the street.

Didn't say I didn't like it its just not street friendly. Heims don't react in the same manner tie rods do on the street. I imagine they would be noisy for a daily driven rig.

I run the same steering setup on the street and it is pretty noisy. Handels well though.

Love your rig, by the way.

I've got heims on my steering. Only once has one gotten squeaky. A little lube and it's been quiet since. I really like the lack of play and tight response to them. Good to hear the Iroks are doing well. I'd like a set of radials for the street qualities, but I don't like that they're 2 ply sidewalls.

Did you just use a regular drywall holesaw or did you buy a special one for sheet metal?

Most radials are 2 ply, except for a select few. Wouldn't worry about it to be honest. If your in terrain bad enough to destroy a tire you shouldn't be running radials anyways.

Where did you get the stuff to do the disc brake conversion for the front and rear?

Front already has disc brakes not sure what your looking for there. Far as the rear they are from a zj. Search for 8.25 disc brake swap and you should find some writeups on them.

Ok thanks and did you put the shafts in the front and rear? I didn't see that in the thread I've seen some just put in the rear.
