I told you it was gonna be... lol When I decide to build something I get it done quick. This is actually taking even a little longer than I expected. We are going through and trying new ideas and making sure everything looks great for the show tomorrow.

 

I have a question.. why is your upper link mount angled forward? Or is that just an optical illusion in the pic?


Also why did you go with 1.25 solid link stuff.. arent you concerned with bending the lower links?

 

In one of the pictures its angled really far forward. We hadnt decided how far forward we were gonna puch the axle yet. Ended up having to shorten the upper arm. You can see the pictures where it is welded later but the caster still wasnt adjusted yet. We adjusted the lower arms out about a 1/2" and then the angle looked alot better. The uppers, trackbar, and steering are 1-1/4 solid the lower links are 1-3/4 solid. Absolutely no concern that I will bend those...

glad to see you decided to box in the lower mounts, i bent my drivers and broke my passengers side the first trip out.

 

Did you come down on something just wrong jmaxj or what? They are boxed in now, tucked up about another 3/8s, and of course Im sure you noticed the bigger arms and joints...


Playing around on a ramp for a little bit... Now just have to wait for wheelin in my area to open up...

Nice suspension, on your webiste you have the rear bumper with a tire carrier on it. What do you use for a hinge? Looks like a regular poly bushing?

 

i was cresting over a section called breakover rock, they both hit when i went over.

and i'm not running your arms or joints, i did see that you upgraded to bigger stuff bit it's still too small for my liking.

 

The hinge is a double sheer setup with upper and lower roller bearings pressed inside DOM tube. I havent worked out the latch exactly yet, thats why my tire carrier isnt on the bumper yet and also why I havent posted up a complete picture. Im planning to incorporate a wrangler style door latch with a pin and striker. It will be way easier to open not having to fidget around with a wierd pin or different latch setup.

What size control arms are you running jmax?

 

2" .281 wall sleeved with 2.25" and running 1.25 joints for my lowers
