After this past weekend little night wheeling trip I decided I really needed to do something about the lighting on my jeep.
I plan on building a set of front and rear bumpers at some point but for now here is what I came up with. Put a set of flush mount floods in the front and rear stock bumpers, the pods on top of the bumper are spot pattern.
Front end all installed.
They put out quite a bit of light, definitely drown out the stock headlights.
Rears installed. My back bumper is a little bent/tweaked. May or may not have backed up into a rock at some point. Heh
Just ordered some 35x12.5 Goodyear MTR's. Got them for 200 bucks a piece through my work. Cheapest I found them online was 225 each. Still need to get some steel wheels.
List of what I still need to buy. Goal is to have it all by the time my 3 link gets delivered in early January. Also going to do the ball joints while the axle is torn down.
Front:
- RE 5.5 coils
- Shocks
- Steering
- Trac bar
- gears/locker
No I haven't yet, but it's on my to-do list. Trying to decide if i want to go with truck-lites or an H4 housing.
Don't have much input on that one. I'm still running the factory sealed-beams, but I'm running the Putco harness which makes 'em about 5x brighter than factory wiring, so I haven't been able to justify changing them. I did have a set of HIDs in the H4 housing, but they were more trouble than they were worth. I think if I were to do anything in regards to upgrading, it would be LEDs.

Well, i think I'm going to go ahead with the 8.8 swap. I can get one complete for 100 bucks. I do a lot of business with recycled, used and aftermarket parts through my work so its hard to beat that price. They will pull it and deliver it.
Plus i can't justify swapping out my 27 spline to only a little stronger 29 spline 8.25. If I'm going to swap the axle I may as well go with something considerably stronger.
