Junkyard find: project TAN BOMBER
Last weekend I hit a local pick n' pull looking for a drivers door for my girls 98 grand. (2nd time I replaced it) well I walk in to the yard. Up front on the builders row was a cherokee. Being the jeep guy I am. I walk for to it. Oh its lifted and looks brand new, body is clean, someone started a hack n tap. I continued on my way into the yard found a good door the main reason I was there. Headed back up front and had to look at the xj again. Kept looking at it no interior plastics. A second set of seats out of something else in the back. Full leaf pack it the rear. Adjustable lowers, double shear track bar mount. Well snapped a picture. And sent it to my girl.
We talked, I talked to her in to let me buy it since my other jeep has been sitting with many issues.
So in the middle of the week I went back and pick up. A 92 4.0l aw4 np242 4Dr. With a 6.5" rough country x-series kit. So it has adjustable uppers and lowers, adjustable track bar, double shear track bar mount, coils no spacers, new shocks, quick disconnect sway bar end links, steel braided brake lines, full leaf packs and shackles. Sitting on some roller tires. Original paint was blue but previous owner painted it a hammered tan. They wanted 900 but got it for 800. So my issues xj will be a donor rig to get this going.
Plans for it
Swap interior plastics
Swap 35's from donor
Maybe swap fender flairs
Swap k&n intake
Swap oil catch can
Swap front bumper
Fab in extra set of seats (driver side seat is broke)
Put a battery in it
Finish hack n tap
There more just can,t remember at this moment.

It starts and runs good also just noticed all the doors are removable. I took a couple 35s I have down to swap out some rollers. So I can bring my donor down to where I'm working on it at.

I'm not happy about it either. I used to use photobucket to upload pics but not since they changed. I'm not going to pay $400 a year to upload photos.

Thanks, ill have to bring it by when I start driving it. Waiting for my HnT yoke to show up so it can have two drive lines like the cool kids.
Oh by the way I'm putting those manual doors I got for you on this as well after I paint them to match.

Nice find! I'm subbing this baby.
(On this whole photobucket thing. I've never used it. I just upload the images to my album on cherokeeforum. Should I be doing something differently?)

Thanks I use a photo resizer now and upload straight to the site. Only reason for photobucket was so the pictures wouldn't be sideways.
