I have not decided on a color but I'm leaning towards Black or Midnight blue

Well I went against my better odds lol got bored at work and decided to just do it now instead of waiting for really no reason.

This week hopefully by Friday I will have (4) 33x12.50rx15 Ironman All Country MT Tires sitting at my door step With any good luck they will be mounted on the new wheels and on the jeep this coming Saturday.

I'm loving how she sits now!

Good morning MAC, MA1 here. Brown water vs Blue water though, Never been on a ship other than a fleet week tour once haha. great progress on the Jeep. I started my jeep project by buying lots of parts while on mob also, then due to the navy life I haven't driven it more than a 500 yards in something like 4 years! did a bunch of work on it a year ish ago but now all "extra" funds from the last year have been spent on converting a building I bought into a house. and unfortunately it will have to sit another year as I'm gearing up to leave again. go navy. also, small world, I'm from WNY, SE of buffalo a ways

It sure is a small world!! I was going through all of your build last night while on my ship. You have some impressive work done, helps when you have the right tools and money for quality parts which you were none short of. How's the house/garage coming for you? I wish I could receive something like that, even though it will be at the cost of a heavy bank account to bring it back to living standards.

We probably have ran into one another or at least know of one another by name but considering you have been brown water vice blue maybe not. Being on harbor boats I know quite a few who have work on them.

Thanks for the compliments on my build it is coming together but defiantly a lot of work still ahead. I have a ton of parts on a list to order but when money is not an object I will certainly have them in my possession to install. Married with 4 kids will do that to you and the Navy certainly don't pay me enough to play too much!!!

I look forward to following your builds though I really like where you have gone with both the red one and black one. Hit me up on PM sometime if you like and I can give you my personal information in the event you ever need anything in the Navy probably not considering you have gotten this far. I retire in 6 years and looking forward to it but going to finish strong. Completing a Destroyer billet "CMAA" billet is both rewarding and challenging so I'm going to be very happy to leave this ship come next August. Not sure where to next but most likely East Coast.

Thanks for the feedback my buddy locally ordered his on amazon and he said they fit great and work well so I choose to go with his reviews. Knowing you had great success just seals the deal even more.

Just got e-mail notification that my tires are out for delivery and I should have them today!!! Too bad my wife will have to handle that and put them in the garage until I get home Friday. I know what I'm doing Friday when I get home though, mounting and balanced and install on the Jeep!!!!!!!!! Can't wait

*UPDATE*:

Can you tell I'm excited LOL Wife just sent me this photo. She said stop ordering **** no room in the garage lmao!! I can see my baby in the garage too, can't wait to get home and get these on. The garage is going to smell like a new pair of shoes.

They look huge!! I didn't order my spare yet but my thought on the spare is this....if you don't have 2 spares then what is really the point? They are never going to wear down equally so the spare is really only there if you blow a tire and need to get off trails quickly. If you wear your main tires down at some point that spare is going to be brand new and never used. I will get one for the sake of having it but I didn't find it needed right now. I do have 5 wheels so I will need to buy it later.

Kids want the garage back my wife said, so I need to make sure I get the Jeep out this weekend. Lot's of toys and stuff in there for them and they have not been able to get to them.

You're supposed to rotate the tires with the spare tire so that it gets worn down evenly, but most people don't bother doing that.

Tires look beefy though! I'm excited to see them on. Hope you have a good trip home.

Thanks I leave tommorrow morning to drive home and I will get them mounted!!!!

So yea I get the idea behind rotating the tires but here is my thoughts. Rotating 1 spare tire into a rotation with 4 tires is not even. By this I mean you run the 4 tires maybe 3,000 miles or more depending on when you rotate. You put that 1 spare on and swap out one of those 4 you been running and essentially you are running a tire that is larger in diameter due to no wear vs. the others. Now okay if you rotate like every few hundred miles *unrealistic* but you get my point as early as possible then yes maybe they will wear evenly.

Okay I may be over thinking it and trying to talk myself out of buying another lol but honeslty I have owned way more vehicles than I can count since I was old enough to drive and I never once used a spare tire. If I blew a tire I opted to just fix it or if it couldn't be fixed I would buy 4 used ones or all new. To get you off the trails in a quick pinch then yes I understand the spare. Outside of that it makes no sense unless you evenly rotate them.
