I think that ideal and reality is probably the only reason she didn't get the boot. But they had her walking on pins and needles there for awhile.

And know what? She knew better too, she could recite the rules from memory so she couldn't claim any ignorance at all. But she learned from it and set a true course and had a fair wind from that point on. She did very well the rest of her contract term.

Well we all know better lol, I was in her shoes early on in my career. However; we all have a tendacy to lean the other direction but in most cases once we learn that lesson we bounce back from it. Just know that I was no angel and eventually it took some pursuasion to redirect me. I even got out of the Navy once and did not care to ever come back. Now look at what happened just did my last reenlistment.

Happy Friday everyone! Duty calls today so I'll be at work all day and night. Be safe out there and hopefully we all get some Jeep time and quality relaxing done this weekend.

I teased you about this yesterday because I was waiting until you were caught up with work to find out the real scuttle butt about your pay and the spending bill. So much disinformation out there about it...

Well turns out I still have a job, my pay who knows on that yet lol. You know they could give me early retirement and I would take it . Any how yea they are talking about 2 million maybe have a delay in pay for military but we will see. This happens every year so I'm not worried.

From what I read you were going to be homeless and on skid row at midnight last night if it wasn't passed. lol

You know... I have been through a couple shutdowns. And they always made sure you guys got paid. Contrary to popular belief things actually got better when Gov was shut down.

I think I'm a little more concerned that I'll have to work for free lol and that the IRS might not process my tax return in time for me to buy more Jeep parts ha ha!

On that note here is some Chrysler 8.25 29 spline from a '99 Cherokee I got today ****.

I'll be cleaning up the entire axle repaint it, new drums, brake hardware, oil, etc. I might even just get it locked while its off before I swap my D35. We shall see depends on if I break my D35 before hand.

When I got it out of my truck I was using it to do deadlifts with lol. My wife came out and my son to help but I found myself doing it alone much easier! The guy who helped me put it in my truck was struggling lol. I picked the damn thing up myself . Guess I got my gym time in today.

On a side note I seen threads of converting these to disc brakes is it pretty easy?

Not much done this weekend other than pickup my C8.25 axle and worked on getting that cleaned up. I drained all the old oil and cleaned up cover and old gasket. I reinstalled cover lightly to allow no debris to enter and started to clean up the axle for paint even if it is going to get beat up I wanted to get the rust off of it and control it.

I will post photos later when its all cleaned. I think I will be installing a Spartan locker in the rear before it goes back into the Jeep and probably purchase a Solid Axle cover. I don't need the cover but I really like it so we will see. If I was a welder I would fabricate my own but that is not going to work right now.

On another note: I posted this in the general area this morning hoping to get a response but nothing yet and I expect people are working or busy. So I will leave it here too since this is part of my build.

Folks, wondering what is the best weatherstripping to order and from where? I have found that mine is in much need of replacement being a 1989. I found that mine is causing leaks in the rear cargo area becuase the water is sitting at the top part of the hatch and not running down like it should. I have since cleared that problem but while the water sits above the hatch it is leaking through the seal. Plus its old and needs freshened up some.

I have found a few online: Mopar, Crown, and OMIX, but wondering for those who have replaced one, did you have good results? I want to pull the trigger on this ASAP to stop my leak so I need some expert advice!

Welcome to the club, lol.

I've looked into the disc conversion for the 8.25 from the Grand Cherokees a little and I think it seems like it would be worth it. The only thing I don't like is some people don't change the brake line and parking brake cables to something that works and looks more stock like.

So its done by pulling the ZJ setup? Do you know what years? I mean I can run drums but the general consensus is disc for offroading.

This is my next purchase very soon! Supercool and I think my son and I will have a blast with them when we are not on the trails in the real life jeep.

I'm not sure which years but there's tons of write ups on it.

You can also look at the Libertys. They come with 8.25s and rear disc and apparently a direct bolt on where the zj version takes some finessing.
