Adjusted the joint on the drag link to pick it up off the tie rod. Put red lock tight on the jam nuts and the nuts in the steering and cranked them down tight. Since replacing the temp sensor the jeep runs better and hasn’t stalled, but the fuel mileage has dropped back down. Thinking about trying to put the drag link on the bottom of the pitman arm, but worried it’ll mess up the steering angles. I’m hoping to get my buddy to weld an ota track bar mount on over winter break and if I’m lucky maybe do some sleeves and c gussets over break. I want to do shock towers in the rear, but not sure when I can get those done. If I had my own welder and a place to put it I could get a lot more done on the jeep, but I don’t have anywhere with 220 that I can hook up to, and my mom won’t let me use the dryer plug and a drop cord. I may start looking at parts and finding sales and when I find someone who can help piece it together.

The Cherokee is getting 35s hopefully before the Harlan trip. I just can’t hang with the 33x10.5 ko2. I usually run like 10 psi or so and they just don’t hang with the 35s and most wont go below 15 psi and some aren’t locked front and rear. Probably going to get some mtrs because everyone else has km2 and I’d like to try something different and see how it does.

I've never ridden in a Jeep with MTRs that didn't ride like doodoo on the road. Off they seem to keep up. I'm a fan of the proven KM2. Maxxis makes a tire called the RAZR that's their radial Creepy Crawler

I had some mtrs I drove on for a couple weeks and they were fine, obviously that’s not a long enough period to say they won’t wear weird or something, but I know I don’t want to go with km2 for sure. My roommate says I should try the pro comp xtreme mt2. Not 100% sure yet though, but I really like the way the mtrs look and I know I want to try something other than the km2s.

Just don't like KM2s because everyone runs them?

I mean they work alright, but there are tires that work better. I’d just like to try something else. Km2 run small, mtrs are true to size, km2 sidewalls get torn up easily, mtrs have Kevlar sidewalls, I really like the way the mtrs look, but the km2 looks good too.

Maybe it's just me, never had a pair ride nice and KM2s did crawl overall better than MTRs in the same size at RC both aired down on standard soft 8 wheels. But either way 35s will be great!

I think I’m going to go to the tire shop in the morning and see what kind of deal I can get. If they give me a good enough deal I’ll get some 35s of some sort tomorrow and if not I’ll get rotated and balanced tires.

Nah I’m just going to stick with 4.56 gears unless I break them somehow. Don’t have the money to regear and it’ll bring my highway rpms down. I’m tired of it screaming down the highway. Most guys in the club with 35s have 3.55 gears still so at least I’m somewhat correctly geared.

I ran 35" Km2s and they measured just over 33"s. I'm running Coopers St maxx in a (285/75/17) which is in between mud and all terrain and they measure 34" exactly as advertised, although they are narrower than advertised but my rim is 7.5" wide not 8". Cooper tires have beefy side walls, mine are almost 5/8 thick like my super swampers. Another good tire from Maxis is there Big horns. Similar tread to the old style mtr

I agree, what you have is way better then stock. Is it that bad on the highway now? What rpm are you at doing 75 mph? I think I am around 2600 and find it near perfect.

My speedometer is off, but I think it’s around 3000 if I remember correctly.

I’ve made the decision to eat ramen noodles and keep the heat on 50 degrees in my apartment for the rest of winter and buy tires, frame stiffeners and axle sleeve and gussets. Now I just need to find a friend to help me install them.
