so i finally got into 4-wheeling and luckily i got a great deal on my jeep..i only paid 2k for it, it already had a 4.5 rustys lift and 33" mickey thompson mtz's. the guy i got it from was extremely nice, he spent about 1100 to smog it and to get it to pass the safety inspection since its salvaged title. the salvage title came from it being rear ended, the rear is bent down pretty good, but luckily for me, the junior college i go to, just got a frame machine, and i just happen to be getting my degree in auto tech, so i have access to it. well back to the build up. i wanna make a roof rack this coming weekend, what other ideas do you guys think i should throw on there, like i said im new to this, so i dont really know where to start.

Cool color. Love great deals! I would be thinking of a tire rack for the rear bumper. Unless your 10' tall kinda sucks keeping spare on the roof.

Hey man welcome. Thats a good looking XJ. Some things to add frame stiffeners, sliders, long arm upgrade, four bolt YJ steering box, tire carrier roof or bumper mount, body armor light boxs, the list goes on check out the different threads for idea's there's lot of good stuff out there

thanks TXstiGuy, im a lil over whelmed with all the info you just gave me, but im sure a lil research will help me out, i did check it out, and they upgraded the arms with the kit, and i was thinking about going stiffeners first, then the rest, ill probably try to make a bumper tire mount. ive already checked all kinds of threads and i got a BUNCH of ideas to work from. thanks for your guys imput

i was also wanting to go to a 6.5 inch lift..i was wondering if i could just add a leaf that adds 2 inches to the back and 2 inch spacers up front..is that a good or bad idea? if anyone has advice please let me know. thanks
