I really dislike where the alternator is mounted on the xj, its very low and open for an electrical part.
I had to replace mine after doing a local mud-bog race

So do I, I've killed one by getting mud in it. I'd like to somehow make a guard/pan that shields the whole underside of my alternator, plus my crank pully and belt from mudd and water. I'd like to buy a spare oil pan from the JY and see what I can't fab up, put drain holes that allow water out but not in

hey here's the pics of what i did today lol thought i'd be cool if I put them here with yours leo

the brown stuff is muddy water lol

had water past my headlights and up to the side mirror by the time i got it out the longer it sat there the deeper it sank

ended up breaking the steering stablizer bar and tie rod and ends
