So for the life of me I can't get the TC to go into anything besides 4H. It just barely goes into 4H too. It won't stay in it once shifted as well. I searched a bunch and it says to adjust the shift linkage. Well I tried that and still nothing. Looking like I need to disconnect everything and just try to shift the TC manually using the tab. I ordered the Novak kit in a moment of frustration. If that kit doesn't solve this I'm not sure what direction to go.

Not trying to be a smartass here but is the trans in neutral when you're trying? Also to get into 4 Low I the vehicle will have to be moving. ( well at least the gears moving).
The linkage does look somewhat off though. I'm pretty sure I have more linkage out of that block adjuster thing.

Yeah it's in neutral. I'll mess around with the linkage again. I'm sure it's something I overlooked. I read allot about this issue and there are a few trends. End state is always a linkage issue. So that's a positive. As I mentioned I bought the Novak shifter kit. So that is my last resort.

Well hit up a local Pick and Pull today. Found an 01 Cherokee pretty much untouched. So I got allot of the trim pieces I have been after for sometime. Also picked up a nice set of OEM fog lights with wiring harness. So those parts plus the novak kit, plus the brown dog motor mounts will be going into the jeep tomorrow.

Installed cruise control today. I used this write-up as a guide:

http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f11/w...-97-xj-906542/

Also installed cargo nets on both doors from Ford Ranger Extended Cabs I found at the Pick a Part.

Also installed the ZJ Armrest.

Oh and finally installed the metal armrest bracket. Bought it off this guy:

Really a quality piece. Highly recommended.

on that SYE, did you trim the shift shaft rod? where the screw in cover goes? I had to trim mine to get it to shift properly. Try taking the plug out, put it n 4x4..and check the clearance to the plug.

I actually just replaced all the "Z" bracket with the Novak shifter kit. I just need to adjust that cabling a bit. Everything is installed correctly. Atleast I think so, but my "part-time" light isn't coming on.
