Default Deployment Gift Build

So here we go. I recently came back from my second trip to Afghanistan. While there my wife kept asking me questions about "If" I bought a jeep what I would want. Well I came home to find an 01 Jeep Cherokee in the driveway. The goal for this is to make it a fun 4x4 for the mud and desert. I'm not sure what my wife pulled, but she got this jeep for next to nothing.

Specs on the Jeep:

Dana 30 Front
8.25 Rear
Automatic
NP 231
126k
White
Sunroof
Previously owned as a commercial vehicle by SoCal Edison.

I'd like to see it before all that stuff goes on to it. Let's see where it starts from. Congrats on the new rig. What a thoughtful wife. If I went to Afganistan, the exact opposite would happen in my garage!

Installed new lower control arms, springs, and front extended brake lines today. Pretty damn tired. Still waiting on the bar pin eliminators and rear leaf spring packs. So I'll knock out the trac bar tomorrow and take some pics.

Looks good brother. Something must be in the air. My wife picked me up an XJ while I was deployed last November. I have to say mine is an 01 but a bit more of a project than yours is. (2 wheel drive, but not for long).

Well front is back together. Work delayed my progress quite a bit. I still need to tighten the top shock nuts. They don't want to tighten. Not sure why. Also need to install the adjustable track bar. Need to get a 5/8's bit and a drill that accepts it. Still waiting on the leafs from the vendor.
