I could swap a 4.0, ax15, and a new t case on without much...only need different engine mounts on the frame
There's a smidge more to it than that...

From someone whose considered a 4.0 swap for quite a while, I'd just go with a TBI 350 swap. Especially on a wrangler with that big ol engine bay.

I honestly believe it's be far more cost effective to swap a 5.3 or other similarly available engine instead of a 4.0.

5.3s are a dime a dozen and cheap. You can buy a wrecked truck for 1500 bucks and have everything you need.

Cut down the harness, mount the engine, trans and t-case, make some drive shafts, new guages and you're ready to roll.

There's a guy here that'll do all that for 2k. That includes the drive train.

Novak Adapters makes everything you need to put a GM LS series motor in an Jeep. Looks really affordable. I am getting ready to do it myself in my XJ, just have to find a trans and I am all set.
