I have been looking but can't find anything on this topic. Can someone point me to a forum or help me out. I have a Dana 30 I want to redo with chromo shafts and a lunch box locker. I plan on running 35" tires. My question is is the 30 spline shafts that much better then the 27 spline? What are the pros and cons of bolth?

Only cons for 30 spline shafts are you need a 30 spline locker and if you break on the trail, you'll need a 30 spline to replace it.

 

Cost aside, the next weakest link is likely to be the ring and pinion.
