And this thing has a 32 gallon tank which is a perk. Minimum of 900 mile range.
Any reason to let it idle other than to let it warm up? Is yours completely stock?
I idle it just to let it warm up. I don't ask much of it ever... I don't hammer on it, rarely does the accelerator ever touch the floor... Just a cruiser to enjoy. It's the cheapest thing I own to drive. Collector plates, antique insurance, and 30 MPG...
With how rare/expensive parts are, I don't want to have to deal with trying to track down some unknown part.
Check your bellhousing around the starter to see if it's cracked. They have a tendency to break off the bellhousing because of the high torque demand.

Slowly making progress... Going slow and checking myself a million times on this thing. Lol. Then all I gotta do is put new accessory belts on, radiator back in, and go buy some coolant.
What's nice is that all the parts from the UK only took about 3 days to get here. Not too shabby.

UTD Report- with the rockers and shaft off, the crank rotates, cam rotates, timing belt on and marks lined up, adjusted belt tension, So far so good.
Need to rotate and recheck timing marks, set valve lash, valve cover, try and start.

Had to feather the throttle a bit to get it to stay running, but at the end of the video it was idling by itself. Didn't want to run it too long without a radiator/coolant. Now all I gotta do is put all the accessory belts back on, radiator back in, and fill it with coolant.

Next project after it's road legal and back to stock height and stock tires is gunna be rust repair. All the surface rust on the body and there's some flaky stuff on the drivers floor pan. Probably gunna be a winter project. No biggie, just has to pass inspection.
