Default 8.8 update

Well I've been busy working on the 8.8. Everything's lined up and almost done welded. Ran out of wire after 9pm.

This was a flex test to see how the shocks tabs would work there. Pay no mind to the super crooked u bolt lol. I cut the perch underneath before welding and now 'salls good.

And, call me crazy but I decided to line up my driveshaft straight and offset the axle to the driver's side. I'm going to run a 1" spacer on the passenger side to make up the difference. I got some flack on the forums for doing this. Said I was not going to be able to change my pass side brakes, but the caliper bolts clear, no problem.

I need to do an SYE next. My DS seems about 1.5" too short.

I was expecting the Ruffstuff kit to drop right on, but the perches and plates needed some trimming and drilling to make things work.

I was wondering why you never brought that axle down here.

If it doesn't work. On the left hand side, in the white box area, scroll down to "shop" and find it there.

Believe me, I've been trying to get down to the Springs for a month. My heep has been on stands for weeks. Driving me crazy.

A buddy let me borrow his Lincoln and I barely started Monday. It's only a 110 so I'm just going to do the shock tabs and perches. Too scared to do the tubes, so I'm going to pay a shop $20 to weld the tubes.

You might try JB Weld on the tubes

Hurry up with this build already. I am getting the shakes for the lack of pics in the mountains.

Here's a couple of mainly finished shots. Still need to do some fender trimming.

Control arm angle. May do some drop brackets later on, but it rides ok for now.

Re-did my front shock mounts as well. Used some '95 Chevy 1500 rear shocks for the front. About 29" extended. I later flexed my jeep and learned longer brake lines are needed bad! I also grabbed some from a '95 Chevy 1500. A bit longer and cheaper than the YJ lines.

Built me a track bar bracket to take advantage of the RE heim joint track bar. Flexes much better!

Alex your **** is looking pretty sick. What do you have invested in it so far? Did you add gusset, or sales to the brackets you welded on?

Not much has gone on w/the Jeep lately - aside from wheelin it!

I did install a Poison Spyder heavy duty tie rod & drag link with 3/4 ton tie rod ends. Also trimmed the fenders and it still rubs alot. I moved my axle back 1" and the rear rubs crazy so I need to decide to open it up, or move my axle forward. Lovin the longer WB though.

Oh yeah, I did manage to install an OBA setup. It's a bit plain, but works good. There's no tank, and I have to keep the trigger depressed on the inflator, but works fine for what I need it for. I later added an inline oiler after the air filter.
