its a custom roof rack that a friend made for his XJ and then sold it to me when he got rid of his. its about 48in wide 6in tall and 72in long and the top part is a little short for the lights. it has 6 light mounts, tire carrier, power source, antenna mounts. soon to get shovel/axe and hi lfit mount. has cross bars to support weight.

not much to update just yet because im still at college for one more week and when i get back work starts on this beast. found a great deal on 2 ford 9in's so it looks like i will be starting to collect parts for my full width build. i dont really need 2 ford 9in's but im going to be putting together one axle out of 2 with all the good parts. havent decided yet if im going with 4.88 or 5.13 gears to run 37s with a full spool. still need to run by my buddies shop and pick up the ford dana 44 front axle from him for about 50 bucks. i think i will end up getting everything with the rear axle mocked up and complete and then when i get the money to do the front and money to get some rims and tires for it, i will then throw the axles in. probably by next summer it will be running 37s like a boss. oh yea this will still be a daily driver and pizza delivery jeep during the summer with 37s just because i can lol

Any plans to plate the unit body? That would be funny to watch a jeep with full widths and 37's and no support.

Im in the process of doing a full width swap as well(8lug 44 and 60). What are your plans on steering, body mods or suspension?

havent figured out the steering yet since i dont have the axle in my hands yet but once i do it will all be figured out last minute to make it work. right now for suspension is just going to be whats on it now (5in lift) and making my long arms since im tight on money. after college it will either get coilovers all around or just coil conversion in the rear with a 4 link. but for now just leafs. for body mods it will get a full roll cage after college so 3 years from now. fenders are already extremly cut so i guess i will find out if a comp cut front and rear will be needed when the 37s get put on. i have all of this sorted out in my head of how i want it to be and isnt the easiest to put it all down in writing since when i get things in my hands ready to go in i work on them till it all works just right.

also both 9in rear ends are 5-5.5 lug pattern so they will be changed out to be 8lug. since i will be low on money military take offs are the cheapest and will last a long time since my jeep wont come close to the same weight as a humvee

Whats your price range on this? I have 3700 figured in axles alone. Making your LA's is not that much cheaper than buying them depending on what joints you use. 3-link, 4-link or radius arm front?

im just building it as the money comes in right now. im going to make a 4 link from like bds. i just didnt really like all the kits out there for long arms and they are all way out of my price range for the ones i do like. i can get metal for really cheap so thats why im going to make them. i dont have money to buy everything in bulk and just go install. i have to wait till i have money and buy things at different times thats wy it probably wont be done till next summer
