Getting ready to cut my fenders soon, just not sure what style I want to go with cut so I'm looking for some opinions. It's gonna go one of two ways. The top picture is just one I found on Google, and the second pic is of my buddies Jeep with his cut fenders, yes he's running tractor tires lol.

Got my fenders cut today, it turned out alright, I'm not sure how happy I am with them yet. I'm going to do some cleaning up on them and probably run them like this for a while until I make some fender flares for them.

Didn't feel like doing a whole lot today so I just sprayed the bottom of the Jeep with some rocker guard. And judging by the amount of people actually following this thread, I'll probably stop updating it so much with all this minor stuff so updates will probably be coming slower.

Been kind of a slow week so unfortunately I didn't get as much done as I'd hoped to. I got the passenger side floor finished and lined with bed liner, ran out before I could finish the driver's side so that'll be tomorrow or the next day. I trimmed my front bumper a bit, roughly an inch and a half on either side, and lastly I took off my busted alternator, you can see in the picture the large gaping hole where the PO took a hammer to it

I started putting on the new alternator but realized only the main long bolt matches up to the holes and the bottom bolt doesn't so I'm assuming they gave me the wrong one, it's weird because they're identical in everyway except that one bolt hole.

And I just realized my Jeep sits crooked lol.

Not to shabby. If you cut the rear don't forget to cut and fold around pinch welds.

Yeah I don't think I'm gonna cut the back at all. I'd thought about it before but in the end decided to just leave it the way it is.

Today has been the day to get stuff done. I finished up the passenger side completely, floor finished and the seat put back in. Now I'm just working on touching up the drivers side and throwing it all back together. Got the alternator taken off and ready to put the new one on, just have to switch the front casing on the alternator, it's off a Cavalier so one bolt hole doesn't line up, should be done later.

Pictures coming later on.
In the meantime, some pics of my very last mudding trip with my old CJ-7 before it was completely wrecked.

Some pics of the finished floor. Camera died before I took any of the driver's side but it's pretty easy to imagine how it looks lol. Tomorrow will be putting the driver's seat in, the alternator on, and FINALLY getting the muffler on.

Mud drag races on the 25th so I need to step things up a notch and finish this.

Mine's been relatively slow but still making some decent progress. I like to think my build is proof that you don't need big tools and a big budget to make some good progress and decent upgrades to a Jeep. Not sure of an exact number but I know that I haven't spent anymore than $80 on the Jeep so far.

Interior is finally all put back together so here are some pics of it all finished.

It kind of looks like $hit in the pictures, the inches of dirt don't exactly don't do it justice lol. I'l get some better pictures once I clean it up tomorrow.

The last pic is of the driver's side, rims STILL aren't painted black so they're still chrome lol.

Default Need Help

I've run into my first real snag with my XJ build so I'm here looking for some help regarding my alternator. I have 2, the one on the Jeep which is busted, and my spare, I need to remove the front casing from the busted alternator, and put it on my spare because 1 of the bolt holes doesn't line up, but I cant get the darn thing off.

I've removed the pulley, the bolts, and the fins, released the 3 black metal clips, and pulled the front casing free so it moves up and down and side to side but still wont pull off. I cant see anything still holding it down and I'm stumped as to how to remove it. Anything help? Am I missing something?
