Just read your build yesterday, it's a beautiful xj
What brake set up did you go with. Looking forward to following this latest addition.

Thanks! It's a WJ swap with all new components using a Stinkyfab High Roller kit.

That was my guess, you didn't leave enough time for us all to guess. I was hoping for a prize at the end. This will be interesting to see while it's being built.

Update on recent projects. The StinkyFab WJ swap is complete and I also just swapped the rear drums out to disc. Replaced the dry rotted rear bump stops at the same time.

Nice job. Are you going to do any suspension upgrades?

Leaving as is for now. It has a TNT Customs radius arm setup out front with 5.5" springs and RE 5.5" leafs in back with no lift relocation brackets and adjustable shackles. It works great, although it's not what all the cool kids are running nowadays. I may 3-link the front someday . . .

What rear axle are you running 8.25? If so where did you get the rear disc conversion?

Yes it's an 8.25" I bought the Teraflex kit when it was on sale a couple months ago.

Latest update, I built some extensions for the rock sliders. When I cut out the rockers, I used 2" x 6" rectangular tube. To do it again I'd use 2" x 8". I damaged my driver's door awhile back because they didn't stick out far enough to protect. Now they do . . .

What a beautiful example of how a cherokee should look! I saw the 2x6 rockers video and how the host was saying a 2x8 might be better. So you did the 2x6 and added the extra square tube to get the 2x8, you should have done? Great job. I recently did my unibody frame stiffeners but have not bought the material to do the 2x6 or 8 rockers.

Correct. If you use 2x6 shoved up against the pinch seam they don't stick out far enough IMO. At the rear, they barely stick out at all since the body gets wider toward the back. I put a pretty good gouge in my driver's door awhile back that wouldn't have happened if I'd used 2x8. So I built these extensions and welded them on.

Yea, I like those.. they look pretty sweet! Did you tie your exo cage into the 2x6's?

Yes, the cage is tied to the sliders at the a-pillar downtube and I also tied the b-pillar tubes into the braces that run from the slider to the subframe. Cage is also tied into the sides of the firewall.
