That gun metal pearl xj at james shop was going to go 4.10s. People talked him into 4.56s. He has same size tires and tires as you. I read everywhere 4.56s are perfect for 33s, and thats what alot of my friends run and love it on 33s. Also I heard the mtr kevlars are an oversized tire so thats why I say do the 4.56s.
And I hear ya on the 2 jobs. I was working 2 jobs for the past year, but quit one recently, now I have so much free time I don't know what to do with myself, but the jeeps been on hold because of which.
I might as well do that then if I plan to move up a size when these tires are done. But man that XJ was cuh-lean!
After researching quite a bit I decided on the 4.56 gears. From what I found it'll give me a little more pep off the line and more torque off roading, and I will be able to move up a tire size with no worries (except backspacing maybe). I don't do much highway driving so I don't care about the effects of that. I've also heard that 4.10s like to up and down shift alot while driving on uneven roads and I don't want to stress the transmission.
Replaced the steering pump and reservoir. No more pissing power steering fluid!! Need to re torque everything down with the impact gun again cause some bumper mounting bolts were a little loose.
First real day off since being back at work (2 jobs= no free time). Wanted to give it a wash, mount my lights, and replace my valve cover gasket. Only replaced to gasket as it's going to rain tonight and UPS never delivered my switches and relays, some next day delivery. But now I gave clean my engine bay without worring about it getting messy again!
Dirty
Clean
Painted
Didn't like how the color turned out.
Old vs. New
Not bad for 4k short of 200k.
All put back together!
And of course I can't do anything to my Jeep without breaking something. Ghetto taped that up.
Been thinking, whenever my 4.0 craps out on me I'll wanna do an engine swap, or a stroker. Been looking around and have seen the 4.7L Golen stroker, a 350 small block chevy, and the 5.3L/4l60e trans combo. More towards the last one. Also thinking about the Ford 8.8 swap, one with disk brakes. If I come across a Craigslist deal like I saw before of an LS3/4l60e combo with wiring harness for $800 I just might have to jump on that too. Other than those fantasies I got a second soundbar from Brandon from the meet. Looking to redo the headliner black, mount up and wire the other soundbar, and get better speakers all the way around.
Buddy got his lift done. Same lift, 3.5" RE Super-Ride, on 32x11.5x15 Cooper SST. I still sit maybe an inch or so higher.
Great detail. As you can see, he under coated the entire underside, put in an SYE, and came out super clean, only rubs alittle on his flares and front bumper. Has gears and G2 diff covers to put in, as well as an LSD for the rear. Don't know what kind though.

I'm working on a black headliner now personally. Hopefully it won't be too difficult. So far the visors were easy.
