I would say continue to work on and finish the body work on the new custom tail lights. See how they look finished and judge them then. And if you decide you dont want to put the time into it to finish them, then it was never meant to be.
I have been looking into putting monstaliner on my floor pan and just buying a nice set of floor mats. For the sole reason being I will eventually put drain holes and plugs in the floor so I can hose the inside down after mudding. And only use the floor mats when I am using the XJ as my DD.
Hey guys, I have a question.
What should I coat my floors with? I got a couple cans of asphalt sealer but its WAY thicker than I thought it would be. I have it warming up to see if its any better in the morning. Has anybody used this? It insults from heat and sound. Its like a cheap alternative to Lizard Skin.
What have you all used to seal and coat floors with?

Thanks! I am loving how its coming together! I love Yota's...but as you can tell, I don't know the meaning of a lifted vehicle haha
I got the floor seams cleaned, sealed, and the entire floors sealed. It came out great with the product I used, but I would change my method a little if I did it again. Heres the result.

The only problem is I did it at noon today and they need 12 hours to dry and 24 hours to cure....so I have NOTHING to do tonight haha. I will take some pics outside in sunlight later.

DISASTER!
So I was setting up the pedals and steering column again and when I closed my driver door, there was a ratchet on the floor. It got pinned between the door bottom and the rocker. It folded the panel and cracked the weld in a couple spots.
So my solution, I am going to try and cut it just above the old weld to some thicker metal. I will then clean the panel, and use it on the passenger door bottom as there is less to cut off the passenger door. Then make a new panel, a bit taller than the old one for the driver door bottom.
Just another side effect of being looooooooooooooowwwwwwww

This is an amazing build! I am very jealous of your metal work and wish I had an ounce of that kind of talent. From a guy that rides air on my second vehicle, well done sir. Haters gonna hate. Keep doing your thing man, that is going to be a head turner for sure!
