Thanks fellow jeep enthusiasts.
I decided to draw up a rendering of my jeep with the future 4 point roll cage and a drawing of the cage itself without the spare tire on it. I've never designed or built a cage before, so any of you guys who have, let me know if this idea is ridiculous.

I designed the cage like this so it matched the angles of the jeep, gave me enough space for coolers, tools, etc, in the bed, and so it was some-what strong. I wasn't planning on having a red cage, but I like the way it looks in the drawing...nice contrast.

Haha.. I've got a friend that works at a local tire shop. Some guy bought some wheels and tires from someone and brought them in to get the tires taken off. He wasn't interested in the wheels... niether were any of the employees. My friend was going to give them to me, but I offered him a dollar..

Since I brought the black farther up my front fenders, I wanted to do something with my Cherokee badges to match the color scheme and at the same time, stand out on that black.

First I cleaned the glue off the back of them. Then I cleaned the front of them with some alcohol prep pads. I then sprayed them with the same color blue as my jeep. After they baked in the sun for about 4 hours, I sanded the blue off the letters so the blue was just an outline. Once I got home, I shot a couple coats of clear on them and called it a day.
Maybe I'll put them on tomorrow.

Anyway, I just bought a set of new 31" Discoverer A/T3's. Let me tell y'all something, these are the best tires I've ever owned. They're quiet on the road and aggressive on the trails. I went through some mild mud holes a few days after they were mounted and I couldn't make the tires spin in 4-hi. I'm sure they aren't they best tires for rock crawling, but I don't have any rocks around here anyway. Not bad for $160 a tire.

Notice the jagged edges on the sides of the lugs.
Another update, I've decided against that cage. Instead, I'm going to build an aluminum dog box for my bed that flows with the angles of both the sides and the back of the cab. The dog box will be topped with a roof rack that goes from the back of the jeep to the front of the cab... I have a sketch drawn up, but I don't have it with me. I'll share it soon.

I just talked to my Dad.. He said he found that hitch at walmart. It's a universal front mount Reese receiver.

Its been a while since I've been on cherokeeforum, but since I've been doing a few things to my jeep, I figured Id post some pics.
I changed my mind about the original cage/tire carrier I was going to build for my jeep. I decided to build something that would help me keep some cargo capacity rather than lose some.
This was after the end of my first day working on it... Put in about 4 hours.
This is what it looks like right now.. 10 hours into it.

The camera on my phone is cracked, so the pics are a bit hazy.
I also put in some new lower control arms from Rustys today, but everyone knows what lower control arms look like.
